Abstract: An osteotome includes a connector, a first arm, a second arm, a third arm, a fourth arm and a cutting head. A coordinate system has an X axis, a Y axis, and a Z axis. The X axis, the Y axis and the Z axis are perpendicular to each other and intersect at an original point. The connector extends along the Y axis. The first arm, extending along the Y axis, connects to the second arm, extending along the plane with the X and Y axes. An angle between the first and second arms is within a range between 125 to 145 degrees. The third and fourth arms respectively extend along the Z axis and the X axis. The cutting head is parallel to the X axis and the Y axis so as to easily control the insertion angle of the osteotome for the patients with smaller face or smaller oral cavity.

  • Patent number: 7486454
Abstract: A variable focus device is adapted for focusing an image on an image sensing module, and includes a hollow fixing seat, a lens module and a lens coupling unit. The fixing seat is adapted for mounting the image sensing module therein. The lens coupling unit includes a piezoelectric layer and a metal layer disposed on the piezoelectric layer. The piezoelectric and metal layers are respectively formed with aligned lens mounting holes to permit mounting of the lens module to the lens coupling unit. The lens coupling unit is disposed relative to the fixing seat such that the lens module corresponds in position to the fixing seat. The piezoelectric layer deforms in response to application of a control signal thereto to move the lens module relative to the fixing seat, thereby varying a focal position of the lens module relative to the image sensing module in the fixing seat.

  • Patent number: 7446963
Abstract: A lens actuating device is applicable in a lens module. The lens module has at least a housing and a lens support in the space formed by the housing. The lens actuating device has at least a base disposed in the housing, a piezoelectric element disposed on the base for generating kinetic energy, a clamping component disposed on the piezoelectric element and a linkage element coupled to the lens support and clamped in the clamping component. The clamping component makes a corresponding motion upon receiving a kinetic energy created by the piezoelectric element, which allows a stick-slip friction to be generated in the clamping component to actuate the lens, thereby achieving optical zooming or focusing and avoiding the shortcomings of the prior art using for example a voice coil motor or a stepping motor.

  • Patent number: 7170156
Abstract: A multi-layer piezoelectric component includes a plurality of piezoelectric layers, a first inner electrode sheet, a second inner electrode sheet, a first outer electrode, and a second outer electrode. The piezoelectric layers are wound around an axis to form a laminar roll having first and second end faces transverse to the axis. The piezoelectric layers include at least one first layer and at least one second layer. Each of the first and second layers has opposite first and second edges respectively at the first and second end faces, and opposite inner and outer circumferential surfaces. The first and second inner electrode sheets respectively overlie the inner circumferential surfaces of the first and second layers. The first and second outer electrodes are respectively and electrically connected to the first and second inner electrode sheets.

  • Patent number: 6856071
Abstract: A piezoelectric transducer module includes first and second transducer units, each of which includes a conductive substrate portion that extends in a first direction and that has first and second surfaces opposite to each other in a second direction transverse to the first direction. At least one of the first and second surfaces has a piezoelectrically active coating coated thereon. The first and second transducer units are spaced apart from each other in the second direction. A connecting unit extends in the second direction and has opposite ends connected to the substrate portions of the first and second transducer units, respectively. The substrate portions of the first and second transducer units and the connecting unit are formed from a unitary conductive plate that is folded at junctions of the connecting unit and the substrate portions of the first and second transducer units.
