  • Patent number: 6123140
Abstract: Elastic means for rolling up a roller curtain include a plurality of springs (26,27,28) fastened rigidly to a common support (15) connected to a shaft (2) and with respective support and constraint elements (36,37,38) which are geometrically coupled to the roller (19). A device for connecting the springs to a stationary frame (35) of the curtain (20) reduces the number of springs torsional turns with respect to the number of turns of the roller (19) by interposition of a speed reducer between the shaft (2), to which the springs are fastened, the stationary frame (35) and the roller (19). The shaft (2) end is located closer to the most external support and constraint element (36) and its extremity has a disc (11) mounted thereto. The coupling device together with the springs (50), their supports (15,36,37,38), the shaft (2) and an external support cylindrical body (6) form a compact assembly, which is introduced into one head of the roller (19).

  • Patent number: 6076591
Abstract: An assembly for locking a curtain in a selected position has a hollow roller unto which a curtain is rolled and unrolled, the roller containing an elastic winding device, and a locking device for locking the roller in the selected position. The locking device has a support coupled to the roller, the support having a cavity which receives co-axially and rotatably at least one locking element that has an elastic band which frictionally engages the support to hinder free rotation of the roller. The elastic band has a first end fastened to the locking element with the band wound around the locking element so that the band is in frictional contact with the support.

  • Patent number: 5092389
Abstract: In a device for controlling a roll-up curtain roller for a curtain to be placed in an opening, a pulley is linked to the curtain roller and has a race forming a lock slot for a driving rope, and a plate supports the pulley and is available for fastening the device to an end of a box in which the roller with the curtain thereon is housed. A guide has a center hole through which passes a grooved cylinder of the pulley, and is mounted on the pulley along the race in an intermediate position between the plate and the box. The guide is provided, on opposite sides, with a first and a second pair of slits through the rope can come out of either one or both of the pair of slits so that the device can be operated from either one or both sides of the opening in which the curtain is placed.

  • Patent number: 5090468
Abstract: A device for locking a roll-up curtain used for protection of window openings and the like, in the fully drawn position, comprises a flap section that defines on its upper side, a seat for clamping the lower edge of the curtain. The flap section includes at opposite ends, two sliders which ride in respective vertical guides inserted in the posts of a frame enclosing the opening. Two latches are slidingly mounted in the flap section, and push-buttons have springs that drive the latches laterally into respective engagement with a lock seat provided in the base of each post. The lock seats are in post bases that are adjustable relative to the post. A fully unwound and locked curtain is released by simultaneously pressing the push-buttons.

  • Patent number: 5083601
Abstract: A support for a roll-up curtain comprises a pair of cylindrical bodies fastened to a wall, each one featuring a transverse recess, open in a front side of the body, for receiving a clamping element with a seating into which an end of a shaft of a roller of the roll-up curtain is introduced. One clamping element is introduced and clamped elastically into the transverse recess of each body, so as to restore the continuity of the cylindrical surface of the body and in such a way that a border of the curtain covers, at least partially, the body, when the support is mounted.

  • Patent number: 5078198
Abstract: A roller on which a curtain is rolled up has its respective ends closed by a washer and by a cap having two opposed recesses one inside and the other outside the roller. A first support in the outer recess supports one end of a threaded rod passing inside the roller and inserted at its other end, in a second support fastened to the washer. The threaded rod crosses two opposed bodies one of which is fixed and the other is movable, by virtue of its coupling with the threaded rod and the rod's axial rotation. Between the two bodies, a helical spring has its ends fastened to the same bodies, so that, the rotation of the roller causes the rotation of the movable body, which twists the spring, but at the same time moves along the threaded rod, thereby changing the longitudinal space available to the spring.

  • Patent number: 5031682
Abstract: A plate for closing one end of a box for housing a window shade roller, includes a cylindrical recess made in the plate coaxially to a through hole and into which a bushing is placed. The bushing is provided with an axial hole having a polygonal cross section and two strikers suited to fit into corresponding notches in the recess. A spring placed inside the recess on a collar integral with the bushing, locks the strikers and notches and prevents axial rotation of the bushing. A washer fastened to the plate closes the recess. A non-round tang extending from one end of a roller can engage the hole in the bushing. Axially pushing on the bushing while rotating the bushing achieves the release of the strikers from the notches, and allows adjusting of the loading of the window shade roller by rotating the tang.
