    Abstract: A module of plant growth medium for use in horticulture (2), comprises a container having at least one wall (4), which defines a reservoir (10) adapted to receive a cutting (22). The reservoir contains a viscous aqueous thixotropic planting fluid (12). The wall of said container comprises a further plant growth medium. The module provides a means for the improved propagation of plant cuttings, such as may result from improved rooting, reduced handling of cuttings and minimal root disturbance when planting on.
