Patents Assigned to Superior Modular Products, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5299956
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for reducing pair to pair cross talk which arises in electrical connectors due to closely spaced elongated parallel contacts. The cross talk which occurs within the connector is reduced by modifying certain circuit paths either inside or outside of the connector so that each conductor of a first pair which is parallel to and cross talking with an adjacent conductor of a second pair in the connector is relocated adjacent and parallel to the other conductor of the second pair over a predetermined distance. It is preferred that the relocation of the circuit paths occur on a circuit board which is attached to the connector.

  • Patent number: 5145401
Abstract: There is provided a jack connector for intermating with a corresponding plug connector. The jack includes a housing which receives a plurality of elongated contacts. Each contact has an arcuate portion which is wider than its adjacent bearing portion. The housing includes a ledge and an adjacent space so that the contact may deflect within the space when force is applied to the bearing portion. Each contact includes a wire termination portion having a substantially zero clearance insulation displacement contact. Each insulation displacement contact is supported by shoulders so as to avoid damage to the contact when a wire is terminated thereto.

  • Patent number: 5125852
Abstract: There is provided an electrical connector jack which is adapted to readily be used with panels having various thicknesses. The jack has a pair of flexible stops in the form of ears extending therefrom which abut against one side of the panel. The flexibility of the ears permits the jack to move over a range of distance after having been inserted into an opening in the panel. The jack further includes additional stops in the form of beams which contact the other side of the panel to further secure the jack in the opening in the panel. The beams are also flexible thereby permitting the jack to snap into the panel. A cover is also provided to conceal the jack and to lock the jack into the opening in the panel.
