Abstract: An under-sink waste pipe system comprises first and second waste pipes telescoped together, a softly resilient seal ring that adapts a smaller pipe for coupling to a larger pipe, seals the waste-pipe juncture, and secures the waste pipes together, a locking ring for compressing the sealing ring into resilient locking and sealing engagement with the waste pipes, and a latching mechanism for securing the locking ring in place with the seal ring resiliently compressed a predetermined degree. The latching mechanism maintains the locking ring secured to the end flange structure and comprises at least first and second latching projections on the end flange structure that extend towards the locking ring, and projection guiding cam surfaces formed in the locking ring. Each projection guiding cam surface terminates in a notch-like latching recess.
