    Abstract: An audio recording system and method automatically set a record level for recording audio by capturing a portion of user audio data and analyzing that portion of the user audio data to determine an appropriate record level. The determined record level is then applied while recording a remaining portion of the user audio data, and the recorded portion may be played back to the user to confirm that the determined setting is suitable.
