  • Patent number: 6039396
Abstract: A seat covering is made with a planar base of resilient material and a plurality of resilient spaced columns integrally formed with the base. Each column has a wide end adjacent to the base and a free narrow end remote from the base, the columns extending outwardly on one side of the base to define a shock absorbing surface spaced from the base and creating a flow path for ambient air to travel between the columns. The columns are adapted to flex independently from one another and to converge together or diverge from one another in response to the movement or anatomy of a person, so that friction resulting from relative movement between the covering and the person is minimized.

  • Patent number: 5921145
Abstract: A mounting structure for a cycle handlebar comprises a stem which is cantilevered to a steer tube connector and is rotatably coupled for relative movement to the steer tube connector with the axis of rotation disposed above the steer tube connector and laterally spaced from the steer tube connector so that the handlebar may be selectively positioned relative to the steer tube connector and the cycle in a multiplicity of desired locations. A resilient damper is disposed between components in the coupling which have a toothed surface to mold the damper into an intermediate gear coupling the components to one another.

  • Patent number: 5921625
Abstract: A cycle seat is mounted to a cycle frame so that the seat will rotate in a horizontally-inclined plane on an upwardly-extending axis. The seat extends transversely on opposite sides of the axis of rotation and has a lobed structure in which a gently-rounded front is disposed between two rearwardly-extending wing-like portions. Structure is also provided to adjust the vertical inclination of the axis of rotation so as to vary the attitude of the seat relative to the cycle frame. The seat and associated mount allow the rider to sit more naturally, more comfortably, for longer periods of time.
