Patents Assigned to Surelock McGill Limited
  • Patent number: 11905734
Abstract: A bolt module is disclosed. The bolt module comprises: a bolt moveable between a thrown position and a retracted position; an anti-thrust member moveable between a release position in which the bolt can be retracted and a plurality of blocking positions obstructing driving back of the bolt under action of an external force on the bolt and, a first rotor assembly capable of accepting a drive element, the first rotor assembly arranged to drive the bolt and to move the anti-thrust member between the plurality of blocking positions and the release position. Each of the plurality of blocking positions may respectively limit to different extents the driving back of the bolt under action of an external force on the bolt. There is also disclosed a leaf or door comprising the bolt module, wherein the bolt module is mounted on the leaf or door for securing the leaf or door.

  • Patent number: 10202784
Abstract: A clutch and handle for applying rotation to a lockable mechanism is disclosed. In particular, the handle is adapted to prevent damage to the handle or a lockable mechanism when excess pressure or torque is applied to the handle. The torque limiting clutch mechanism limits the torque which can be applied by the handle such as to a lockable mechanism for securing a leaf within a frame. The torque limiting clutch mechanism comprises first and second rotors in confrontation to transmit rotational drive from the handle to the lockable mechanism. The first and second rotors are arranged to slip against each other beyond a maximum transferred torque.

  • Patent number: 9719278
Abstract: A lock system for controlling access, for example to a room or building, is disclosed. The lock system comprises a bolt module in which control of the bolt can be configured differently on the two sides of a leaf or door. Control of the bolt module may be provided by various locking modules, which are also disclosed herein. The bolt module is reversible for left handed or right handed operation. In one embodiment the bolt module comprises: a bolt moveable between a thrown position and a retracted position; and a first rotor assembly capable of accepting a drive element, the first rotor assembly arranged to drive the bolt. The bolt module may also comprise a second rotor assembly. The bolt module may comprise an anti-thrust member obstructing driving back of the bolt under action of an external force on the bolt. The bolt module may comprise a lockable cover.

  • Patent number: 8616591
Abstract: A push plate assembly (10) that may be used for driving a bolting mechanism is disclosed. The push plate assembly (10) may be included as part of a push pad assembly or panic bar assembly, such as may be fitted to single or multipoint bolt mechanisms, for example, those fitted to emergency exit doors. The push plate assembly comprises a housing (32), a push plate (36), a slide plate (45) and a drive cam (55). The drive cam (55) is arranged to rotate within the housing so as to rotationally drive a bolt mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6478345
Abstract: A mechanism for providing a multi point bolting action to secure a door or other leaf movable within a frame is disclosed. The mechanism comprises a drive gear and an axle gear mounted to rotate about substantially the same axis. The idle gear is arranged to rotate in one sense when the drive gear rotates in the other sense. The mechanism also comprises at least one first member arranged to move between a thrown position and a retracted position when the drive gear rotates, and at least one second member arranged to move between a thrown position and a retracted position when the idle gear rotates. The first and second members are each provided with a rack held in intermeshing engagement with the appropriate gear.

  • Patent number: 6283516
Abstract: There is described a lock mechanism for a leaf hinged within a frame, the lock mechanism comprising a first bolt and at least one further bolt, each bolt being movable between an engaged position in which a distal end of the bolt projects from the leaf and a disengaged position, the bolts being directly driveable together between the engaged and disengaged positions by movement of a common drive member, the first bolt having a proximal end engaged by the drive member and isolating means for ensuring that, when pressure is applied to the distal end of the first bolt tending to move it to the disengaged position, the or each further bolt is not moved to the disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 5865479
Abstract: A lock mechanism comprises at least one bolt member moveable between an engaged and a disengaged position. The latch arrangement prevents movement of the bolt members from the engaged position to the disengaged position. A first operating member for operating the lock mechanism is provided on one side thereof and a second operating member and a latch release arrangement are provided on the other side of the lock mechanism. The latch arrangement responds to movement of the first operating member or the latch release arrangement to release the bolt members and allow movement thereof from the engaged position to the disengaged position. The bolt members are further moveable between the engaged and disengaged positions in response to movement of the first or second operating members.
