  • Patent number: 8513559
Abstract: An apparatus applies a wear coating on the interior surface of conduits, particularly conduit elbows, in which the weld head applying a weld bead forming the wear coating is supported by a wheel engaging the bottom surface of the conduit and interconnected with a push/pull cart mounted on a linear support frame exteriorly of the conduit by a plurality of linkage elements. Each of the head element and the linkage elements include a centralizing joint having a pair of transversely opposing rollers that engage the lateral sides of the conduit to maintain a consistent positioning of the welding arm at the distal end of the apparatus. The welding arm includes a three-axis adjustment for the welding torch tip for accurate location thereof within the conduit. Positional adjustment of the welding torch tip is provided by independent electric motors associated with each pivot axis in the welding arm.

  • Patent number: 8186906
Abstract: A screed machine is formed with a forwardly positioned screed assembly including a wedge portion and pivoted wing members. The frame is supported on two rollers spaced behind the screed assembly, which is mounted on a mast for vertical movement in conjunction with a laser receiver that provides a signal from a laser level indicating the final desired grade of the stone base. The machine can be turned at a corner by extension of a jack stand to elevate the machine for rotation about the axis defined by the centrally located jack stand so that the screed machine can be redirected into a different direction without disturbing the final grade of the stone base. The screed machine is manually moved along the stone base by an operator pulling on the handle pivotally connected to the frame. A sight line provides a monitor for the lateral orientation of the screed assembly.

  • Patent number: 7980843
Abstract: A concrete dispensing apparatus is used in a manufacturing process for producing pre-cast concrete structures, which are conventionally used to form a foundation for a residential or commercial building. The dispensing apparatus includes a hopper that funnels to a discharge opening extending along the entire transverse length of the dispensing apparatus. A plurality of individually controlled gates cover the entire discharge opening for selectively controlling the length and location of the discharge opening through which concrete is dispensed. The dispensing apparatus also includes a finishing mechanism including a vibratory screed and a rotational finishing roller. The form can be moved relative to the dispensing apparatus or vice versa. A form vibrator induces a vibratory motion into the form to remove air from the dispensed concrete mixture.

  • Patent number: 7922145
Abstract: An adjustable support stand is mounted on a pre-cast concrete wall panel form to facilitate the leveling of the form and the support of the form about the production plant floor. The adjustable support stand includes a frame portion that houses a threaded rod positional fixed for rotation within the frame portion to drive a vertical movement of the leg member in response to rotation of the threaded rod. The adjustable support stand further includes a clamping apparatus that detachably mounts the frame portion to the flanges of a steel beam frame member. The actuator member can be a nut welded to the top of the threaded rod to affect movement of the engaged leg member in response to manipulation with a powered or manually operated hand tool, or a gear set and an orthogonal drive shaft that transfers rotation from a hand tool to the threaded rod.

  • Patent number: 7736048
Abstract: A segmented auger mechanism is mounted in the hopper of a concrete dispensing apparatus used to distribute a hydrated concrete mixture into a horizontally disposed form to manufacture pre-cast concrete structures, such as concrete wall panels used to form a foundation for a residential or commercial building. The auger mechanism is formed of connected segments that can be individually and independently removed from the concrete structure for service and repair. The auger is rotatably supported by a pair of end bearings supported on the opposing end walls of the hopper of the dispensing apparatus, and by at least one interior bearing rotatably supporting a jack shaft having opposing half-round connecting portions for attachment to a corresponding connecting portion on the auger shaft. Removal of a segment of the auger mechanism facilitates the removal of the entire auger mechanism to minimize the down time of the concrete dispensing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7530203
Abstract: A pre-cast concrete wall system that incorporates a truss ledge for positioning a building floor system at a below-grade location. The truss ledge is defined by a vertical wall formed as a continuation of the exterior wall of the wall panel extending from the footer beam to the upper bond beam and projecting vertically above the upper bond beam to provide a support surface for the building floor members. A floor truss system can be supported on the upper bond beam with the truss ledge forming a concrete below-grade surface externally of the floor trusses. Galvanized steel stud facings incorporating fold-up reinforcing bar supports are used on the interior surface of the vertical wall beams. Insulated access holes are formed through the vertical beams for the passage of wiring and plumbing behind the wall finish to be fastened to the stud facings.

  • Patent number: 6494004
Abstract: The disclosure is for a method and apparatus for constructing a concrete wall with a single pouring of concrete. The mold for the pouring of the wall is formed essentially of plastic foam insulation which remains attached to the finished wall to serve as thermal insulation. The wall structure is therefore self jigging and requires no elaborate mold structure or any time or labor to remove the finished wall from the mold.
