    Abstract: A multi-channel arrayed isosbestic wavelength detection system comprises an arrayed light source board, an arrayed photoelectric sensor board, and an intermediate system frame. The arrayed light source board and arrayed photoelectric sensor board are assembled at opposite sides of the intermediate system frame. In addition, the arrayed light source system has a plurality of light-emitting elements, each of which comprises two monochromatic light sources that provide main wavelength and reference wavelength respectively, and the two wavelengths are isosbestic wavelengths. The arrayed photoelectric sensor system has a plurality of photoelectric sensors, which are aligned at fixed positions in one-to-one correspondence with the light-emitting elements.

    Abstract: A removable media diskette cartridge configured for use with an ultra-high capacity disk drive, and precluded from use with a conventional floppy disk drive, includes a top casing half with a substantially flat front edge which overhangs the front edge of the shutter, thus preventing the shutter from being engaged and opened by a conventional shutter opening mechanism. The diskette cartridge also includes an area of increased thickness which prevents the diskette from being inserted through the access opening of a conventional 3.5" floppy disk drive.

The component to be tested is held in a head bar holding assembly (44) or an alternate head holding assembly (544), and positioned with a head gross positioning assembly (18) or a head fine positioning assembly (16) over a localized portion (50) of a flexible magnetic medium (28) which is caused to spin in relation to a stabilizer plate (20) by a media spin motor (28). The localized portion (50) is deformed to bring the localized portion (50) of the flexible magnetic medium (28) into proximity with the component under test.

    Abstract: A method for detecting aberrations in a digital data storage medium, such as a magnetic media disk. In a media certifier, a series of signal pulses is produced by reading data previously written to a medium is examined for differential variations between each signal pulse and at least one other of those signal pulses in the local area of the medium. A signal indicative of such differential variations is isolated by means of a CYCOMP circuit (54) and/or a band reject circuit (140). The CYCOMP circuit (54) works by delaying a previously produced signal for comparison to the cycle of the signal presently being produced and then producing a differential signal representing any instantaneous difference between the two signals. The band reject circuit (140) works by eliminating any frequency content that would be present in a series of normal signals and thus isolating any asynchronous signal that is indicative of an aberration.
