  • Patent number: 5329816
Abstract: A tuning fork-controlled gyro includes two legs and a base part, one end of each leg being connected with the base part and the legs being freely vibratable and provided with an electrode pattern comprising drive electrodes for generating a vibration in the legs of the tuning fork either in the plane of the tuning fork or out of the plane of the tuning fork and sensing electrodes for sensing vibrations occurring in the legs of the tuning fork in a plane perpendicular to the plane in which the vibration was generated.

  • Patent number: 5251483
Abstract: A sensor element intended for a gyro, comprises an elongated body including at least one elongated element defining a tine and having a first and a second end. The first end is freely vibratable in two planes perpendicular to each other, designated as the X-Y plane and the Y-Z plane. The second end is fixedly secured in a body rotatable about a longitudinal axis which coincides with the planes. Drive and sensor electrodes are provided for piezoelectrically detecting vibrations of the first end, the drive electrodes providing vibrations in a plane perpendicular to the plane in which the sensor electrodes detect the vibrations, the drive and sensor electrodes covering substantial portions of the first vibratable end of the elongated element. The elongated element, at its second, fixedly secured end includes a transitional portion and an anchorage portion which do not participate in the vibration to any appreciable degree.

  • Patent number: 5202531
Abstract: Rammer for those artillery pieces which are charged with a shell and propellant separately, intended to move the shell, upon charging the piece, from a charge position in the immediate vicinity of the charge opening of the piece to the rammed position of the shell inside the barrel ahead of the charge space intended for the propellant powder charge. The rammer, which preferably is hydraulically operated, is divided into two piston cylinder systems consisting of a primary rammer and a secondary rammer connected by means of a transverse arm and designed with parallel but counter-directed projection directions. Immediately before the rammer is activated, the secondary rammer is situated along the longitudinal axis of the barrel and with its own piston rod completely retracted immediately behind the shell situated in the charge piston, while the primary rammer is at the same time completely projected. Upon ramming, the primary rammer is drawn in and the secondary rammer is pushed out.

  • Patent number: 5175393
Abstract: A device in a launch unit for a mortar projectile (4), where the launch unit (6) has a propellant charge (10) capable of generating propellant gas for launching the projectile from the barrel (1) of the mortar, the launch unit being designed to be placed in a loading position behind the projectile. The launch unit has an enlarged cross surface (20a) in the barrel against the pressure from the propellant gas, the enlarged cross surface creating an expulsion force on the launch unit. The cross surface is in the form of wing elements (20a) arranged crosswise in the front portion of the launch unit (6) and being bendable in proportion to the magnitude of the propellant gas pressure in order to accomplish a self-regulation of the expulsion velocity of the launch unit.

  • Patent number: 5157219
Abstract: A firing pin initiated primer intended to withstand extreme loading forces, includes a capsule having an opening defined by a continuous, deformable side wall and being deformable by the firing pin impacting upon the capsule at the opposite end thereof, an anvil surrounded the capsule, and having an upper portion with a cross section substantially corresponding to that of the capsule, an unbroken lower suppport surface facing the capsule, at the end opposite to the opening and a sealing surface adjacent to the support surface, at least one radial channel formed in the anvil adjacent the sealing surface and extending from the periphery towards the center and converging into an axial channel defined in the anvil, a compartment defined by the supporting surface and bottom and side walls of the capsule and containing a pyrocharge therein, which has the entire upper surface abutting the unbroken support surface of the anvil, and at least one gap formed longitudinally outside of the capsule allowing for the partial
