Abstract: According to some embodiments, a system and method for dispensing a floor coating in a specified ratio of multiple components is disclosed. The system and method may set and maintain a desired ratio of the multiple components by controlling, with a controller, a drive rate of respective pumps configured for propelling the components from a reservoir to a mixer or a dispenser. The controller may be responsive to at least one of a measured actual drive rate, an environmental condition, an actual usage of each component, and an operational parameter of the system, for adjusting a drive rate of the respective pumps to compensate for discrepancies that may affect the ratio of the multiple components.

Abstract: Methods for abating airborne pollutants include applying a coating composition ath includes a an aqueous carrier, a binder, a pigment, and a formaldehyde scrubbing urea compound and curing the coating composition. The coated substrate absorbs formaldehyde and other air pollutants from passing air.
Abstract: Solvent-free, hydrophobically modified urethane (HEURs) compositions produced by reactive extrusion, methods of producing the same, and coating compositions containing the same are described. Such HEURs can be used as solvent-free or low-solvent rheology modifiers in coatings formulations. The HEURs compositions herein are formed by reactive extrusion of a polyether polyol and an isocyanate functional material in the presence of a metal catalyst, and an hydrophobic, end-capping modifier without the need for organic solvents, co-solvents, and/or surfactants. In certain aspects, compositions and methods herein do not require the costly stripping of organic solvent to provide useable product, allow for a 100% active solids HEUR that can be added directly to the grind stage of making a paint composition, and are free of VOC-contributing solvents or co-solvent.
Abstract: A waterborne coating composition including a novel polymer latex and methods of preparing the polymer latex for the waterborne coating composition. The disclosed polymer latex, when incorporated into the waterborne coating composition, reduces gloss, and achieves a matte appearance without the need for and/or with reduced amounts of traditional inorganic matting additives. In one approach, the polymer latex disclosed herein includes latex particles having a core/shell arrangement configured to not only participate in film formation but also impact surface morphology of dried films to produce the low gloss coatings.
