Abstract: This invention provides a polymer, which is preferably a polyether polymer. The polymer may be uses in coating compositions. Containers and other articles comprising the polymer and methods of making such containers and other articles are also provided. The invention further provides compositions including the polymer (e.g., powder coatings), which have utility in a variety of coating end uses, including, for example, valve and pipe coatings.

Abstract: This invention relates to fusion bonded epoxy rebar powder coating compositions of enough latency overtime, which cure in seconds upon residual heat up to 239.0° C., exhibiting low temperature flexibility to achieve crack-free rebar bending at ?45° C. and a glossy finish without yellowing or discoloration. This invention further relates to rebar powder coatings compounded using suitable dihydrazide amines as the curing agent, in combination with an executive resin blend including a compatible toughening epoxy, and a synergic catalyst package to meet the intended application challenges.
Abstract: An electrocoating composition and a coating formed from the composition are described herein. The electrocoating composition includes at least an epoxy resin component, an isocyanate-functional component and a silica-based additive. The coating shows about 40 to 70% reduction in edge corrosion relative to a conventional coating.

Abstract: A copolymeric pigment dispersion resin derived from isobornyl (meth)acrylate and one or more other monomers has a number average molecular weight less than about 10,000 and is derived from sufficient isobornyl (meth)acrylate so that a 60 wt. % solution of the resin in propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate forms a clear solution when combined at room temperature with at least three times the resin weight of odorless mineral spirits. The resin may be compatibly mixed with solvent-borne coating compositions based on polar or on non-polar solvents, and can provide a single factory shader or point-of sale colorant formulation for tinting a wide range of such coating compositions.

Abstract: A waterborne basecoat includes a rheology package having two or more rheology modifiers selected from the group of an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer wax emulsion, an alkali swellable acrylic copolymer emulsion, a silicate layered clay, and a hydrophobically modified ethylene oxide urethane; a resin system comprising two or more waterborne dispersion resins selected from the group of a urethane-acrylic hybrid resin dispersion having a medium Tg of about 15 to about 35° C., a urethane modified Aldehyde/ketone emulsion having a high Tg of more than about 100° C., and a polyurethane dispersion having a low Tg of less than about ?20° C., and a pigment. The pigment may be metallic or non-metallic and may be selected from organic or inorganic pigments. The rheology package and the resin package may be optimized to accommodate properties commonly associated with different types of known pigments.

Abstract: A urethane composition useful in a variety of applications such as, for example, as a direct-to-metal coating, i.e. a coating composition that can be applied directly to the surface of a metal substrate without a primer or pretreatment is described. Abstract: Disclosed are joining compositions that are suitable for use as adhesives or sealants in various embodiments. Generally, the compositions include silyl-modified polyether polymers in combination with dibenzoate plasticizers. When used as sealant compositions, the joining compositions can exhibit improved stability and reduced leaching of plasticizer components. When used as adhesives, the joining compositions can be used in numerous applications including residential and commercial building applications. Methods of manufacture and use of the compositions are also disclosed.
