  • Patent number: 11452912
Abstract: A system and method for continuously tracking a competitor on an athletics track, including: a wireless transmitter operable to wirelessly submit a query provided with a timestamp, a wearable transponder attachable to the competitor, and configured to receive the query, to generate a transponder specific response and to wirelessly transmit the response, stationary receivers distributed across or around the athletics track. Each of the stationary receivers is configured to receive the transponder specific response and to determine a runtime, which is indicative of a point in time relative to the timestamp at which the transponder specific response has been received by the respective stationary receiver. A processor is connected to the stationary receivers and is configured to determine a position of the wearable transponder relative to the athletics track or relative to the stationary receivers on the basis of the runtimes received from the stationary receivers.

  • Publication number: 20200193616
Abstract: A display method including the steps of: acquiring, at a first predetermined frequency, a first series of one-spatial-dimensional instant images of the finish line of a race; simultaneously acquiring a second series of two spatial-dimensional instant images of the same finish line (19) at a second predetermined frequency; forming a temporal image (10) of the photo finish type from the first series of instant images; choosing an instant (15, 22) of the temporal image (10); analysing a two-spatial-dimensional image of the second series, the image being correlated with the selected instant (15, 22) to determine at least one distance; and displaying the analysed two-dimensional image with the determined distance or distances. Also, a display system for implementing the method.

  • Publication number: 20170065864
Abstract: The process enables a time of an athlete in a hurdle race to be measured or predicted with a personalized transponder module positioned on the athlete and a base station. The transponder module comprises a receiver unit, a processing unit, a transmitter unit for data signals and a motion sensor to supply measurement signals to the processing unit. The module is activated by a wake-up signal and a measurement of the movement is conducted by the sensor after the start of the race on passage of each hurdle. The data signals are transmitted to the base station and determination of a passage time over each hurdle is conducted.

  • Patent number: 9473755
Abstract: Color filter for a digital sensor formed of a two-dimensional array of pixels, each pixel corresponding to a given color. The pixels are arranged in at least one base pattern repeated over a given surface, which has at least three pixels of three different colors. The color filter is characterized in that it includes a plurality of distinct base patterns, each of these patterns having predefined optical properties of sensitivity, of color quality and of resolution, and in that it is subdivided into a plurality of distinct areas, each corresponding to a two-dimensional sub-array of pixels. Each of the base patterns is repeated several times along each dimension of the two-dimensional sub-array, respectively over the entirety of a corresponding area.

  • Publication number: 20140064409
Abstract: The data and/or command signal transmission device includes a first signal generator connected to a first antenna arrangement, a second signal generator connected to a second antenna arrangement, a third signal generator connected to a third antenna arrangement, and a synchronisation circuit. The synchronisation circuit performs data amplitude modulation by combining the signals transmitted by the antenna arrangements. The signals transmitted by the first and third antenna arrangements are in-phase in a first stable modulation state and 180° out of phase in a second stable modulation state. In a modulation state transition phase, the first and third signals delivered by the first and third generators are at a different frequency from the carrier frequency of the signals delivered by the second generator. The resonance frequency of the first and third antenna arrangements is also adapted in the transition phase.

  • Patent number: 5367286
Abstract: The display system includes a device for memorizing the time when each competitor (C.sub.i) in a sequential start race passes a detector (D.sub.k); a device (12) for classifying competitors (C.sub.j) as they pass each detector (D.sub.k) to establish for each detector (D.sub.k) a list of competitors according to their time; and a processing device (20) which operates when a competitor (C.sub.i) passes a detector (D.sub.k): to determine the instantaneous ranking of competitor (C.sub.i) reaching the detector (D.sub.k) by comparing his time of passage with the times of passage of a plurality of previously classified competitors (C.sub.j), to calculate the time differences R and A between the time of passage of competitor (C.sub.i) and the times of passage of competitors (C.sub.j) of immediately adjacent rankings, to convert each time difference R and A into a distance using a conversion function f, and to display, in a predetermined display area (28), a symbol (30) representing competitor (C.sub.
