  • Patent number: 11605835
Abstract: A battery comprises at least one layer with anode material. For each layer with anode material, the battery comprises at least one layer with cathode material. Between each layer with anode material and each layer with cathode material there lies at least one separator as a separating layer. The battery also comprises a housing with an interior space. The housing is arranged such that it surrounds the layers, in each case such that each layer with anode material and each layer with cathode material is completely accommodated in it. The housing is substantially of a material that has no, or negligible, electrical conductivity. The housing is preferably of a nonconductor, with preference of plastic. The invention also relates to a method for producing the battery according to the invention, and to a use of the same.

  • Patent number: 8748024
Abstract: A battery comprises a battery housing and an electrode which is accommodated in the battery housing. Outer faces of the battery housing substantially form the shape of a hollow body which has an accommodation space for accommodating at least a substantial portion of a device which is to be supplied with power by the battery. An outer casing surface of the battery housing can therefore form a portion of a housing of the device. Since the battery housing protects both the active portion of the battery enclosed therein and the components of the device accommodated in the accommodation space of the battery, and a separate device housing and battery housing can therefore be largely avoided, there is a resultant saving in weight and volume. The freedom of design for devices which are provided with batteries is also increased.

  • Patent number: 8697278
Abstract: A battery cell casing comprises a first casing element (1) with a first contact surface (7) and a second casing element (2) with a second contact surface (8). In an assembled position the first and second contact surfaces (7, 8) contact each other and the first and second casing elements (1, 2) encase active materials (9, 10) of a battery cell in an interior space. At least one seal layer is arranged between the first and second contact surfaces (7, 8) to seal the interior space, wherein one of first and second contact surface (7; 8) comprises a void volume layer and the other of first and second contact surface (7; 8) comprises a formable material layer, which fills voids on a surface of the void volume layer hermetically in the assembled position and forms the seal layer.

  • Patent number: 8685560
Abstract: The battery comprises a can, a cap, and a seal. The cap fits into the can to build a housing with a closed interior volume, and the seal sealing cap and can in relation to one another. A porous membrane spills the interior volume into two subcells with each subcell containing one or multiple layers of electrolyte and one or multiple layer structures. The latter comprise a conducting film at least partially coated with active material and contain one or more through-holes. The layer structure is parallel to the porous membrane and the conducting film is connected to either can or cap. This construction allows for a large area of contact between active material and electrolyte and as between electrolyte and porous membrane which result in a high performance of the battery.

Abstract: A battery (1) comprises a battery housing (2) and an electrode which is accommodated in the battery housing. Outer faces of the battery housing (2) substantially form the shape of a hollow body which has an accommodation space (3) for accommodating at least a substantial portion of a device (100) which is to be supplied with power by the battery. An outer casing surface of the battery housing (2) can therefore form a portion of a housing of the device (100). Since the battery housing (2) protects both the active portion of the battery (1) enclosed therein and the components of the device (100) accommodated in the accommodation space (3) of the battery (1), and a separate device housing and battery housing can therefore be largely avoided, there is a resultant saving in weight and volume.
