Abstract: A method and system for providing message-based access to services includes receiving a request message from a mobile subscriber relating to a service that is desired by the mobile subscriber, routing the request message for processing, performing one or more activities in accordance with the requested service, returning a response message to the mobile subscriber, and facilitating/enabling/etc. access to the requested service.

Abstract: Coincident with the evolution, maturation, etc. of wireless messaging ecosystems an infrastructure that supports offering to mobile subscribers different types of rewards (for example, possibly inter alia, cash, free service offerings, product coupons and/or discounts, popularity indicators, etc.) for specific mobile subscriber behaviors including, possibly inter alia, a mobile subscribers' creation and sending of increasing numbers of certain types of messages. The infrastructure may optionally leverage the capabilities of a centrally-located Messaging Inter-Carrier Vendor.

Abstract: An intermediary infrastructure that facilitates the interconnection of multiple IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks. The interconnections may span one or more of the IMS logical planes Services Plane, Control Plane, and Network or Transport Plane. The intermediary offers among other things a process, routing, and switching complex that is able to among other things process incoming messages including using a comprehensive routing repository to complete message routing operations.

Abstract: An intelligent routeback mechanism that may inter alia receive from an entity (such as for example a wireless carrier) aspects of the entity's messaging traffic, data, etc. with the intelligent routeback mechanism aiding the (1) return (optionally augmented, optionally transformed, etc.) to the entity of that portion of the traffic, data, etc. that the entity is able to deliver itself and (2) delivery of that portion of the traffic, data, etc. that the entity is unable to deliver itself. Such an intelligent routeback mechanism may reside in inter alia a Messaging Inter-Carrier Vendor.

Abstract: A user feedback generation and management capability, operating possibly within a Value-Added Service Provider, provides key feedback (e.g., information, updates, etc.) to a Mobile Subscriber (MS) during, for example, the MS? receipt of rich content on the MS? Wireless Device (WD). The feedback may be conveyed to a MS? WD through, possibly inter alia, one or more Short Message Service messages. Such feedback may, possibly inter alia, provide details as to why certain content might not be received, suggest one or more alternative content delivery means, etc. and thus serve to obviate what would otherwise be (1) a frustrating, disappointing, etc. user experience for the MS and (2) increased customer service costs for the different content and service providers.

Abstract: A subscription manager module or message processing engine operating within a messaging inter-carrier vendor (MICV) provides value added services to both service users (e.g., mobile telephone users) and service providers (e.g., information brokers, vendors, news sources, etc.). The MICV is disposed between a plurality of service users and a plurality of service providers and messages sent between these parties are processed by a subscription manager module, or message processing engine, which is configured to, among other things, manage short codes, detect undesirable spam messages, operate service user opt-in and opt-out processes, and perform billing functions.

Abstract: A method for detecting an undesirable condition within a messaging network. A message is received and a source of the message is identified. If an entry in a database for the source has not been created, an entry is created. A source counter for the source is then set to one and a timestamp is created for the source. If an entry in the database for the source has been previously created, the source counter is incremented by one and the timestamp is updated. The source counter is then compared to a source threshold, and if the source counter exceeds the source threshold over the course of predetermined amount of time, a source alarm is triggered. A sliding with respect to the predetermined amount of time may also be implemented to account for total counts that may fall across or be split by set periods of time. The invention is particularly useful for detecting “spam” events and undesirable routing loops.

Abstract: A method and system for providing message-based interactive services includes receiving a short code message from a mobile subscriber relating to a service desired by the mobile subscriber from an interactive service device, routing the short code message for processing, and instructing the interactive service device to operate in accordance with the short code message.

A network facilitator is in communication with both the USC Administrator and at least one wireless carrier to route the SMS message to the proper holder of the short code. The short code may be leased for a specified period of time so that the short code can be reassigned after expiration of the lease.
