  • Patent number: 6126583
Abstract: A roller including an internal supporting structure and at least one layer of elastic silicone-based material attached to the supporting structure and forming a mirror-finished flexible outer surface of the roller. The supporting structure includes a central hollow perforated cylindrical body having a central axis and a pair of opposite ends; and a pair of end flanges attached to the cylindrical body at the opposite ends. Each of the pair of end flanges has outer circumferential surfaces which are raised with respect to the outer surface of the cylindrical body such that the supporting structure is removably insertable inside a hollow support-mold by having the outer circumferential surfaces engage with an inner surface of the support-mold for forming an interspace between the inner surface of the support-mold and the outer surface of the cylindrical body for containing elastic silicone-based material introducable from inside the supporting structure and through the perforated cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 6089848
Abstract: An apparatus for producing rollers covered with layers of elastic silicone-based material, including: a base frame; a hollow box-like cylindrical support-mold rotatably mounted on the base frame about a longitudinal axis,of the support-mold; a device for rotating the support-mold about its longitudinal axis; a hollow prepared and coverable cylindrical perforated supporting structure which is removably insertable coaxially and snugly inside the support-mold so as to provide a perimetric seal between opposite ends of the supporting structure and the support-mold and so as to define a sealed interspace between the outer surface of the supporting structure and the inner surface of the support-mold; slides mounted on the base frame; a device, slidably mounted on the slides, for introducing elastic silicone-based material inside the supporting structure such that upon rotation of the support-mold the elastic silicone-based material travels through the perforated supporting structure from the inside of the supportin

  • Patent number: 5736089
Abstract: The supporting structure coverable with a plurality of concentric layers of elastic silicone-based material to produce rollers having a mirror-finished flexible outer surface has a hollow cylindrical body and a surface that is affected by a plurality of openings which are variously distributed and sized to allow the passage, produced by centrifugal force, of the material in the fluid/semifluid state from the inside towards the outer surface and to provide subsequent engagement.

  • Patent number: 5477781
Abstract: The invention comprises a mobile rest plane for tiles on which operates a matrix cylinder provided with an elastically deformable peripheral part having a smooth external skin made of an elastomer material, on which a matrix, in the form of microscopic cavities, is cut. A doctor, arranged in order to be in contact with the skin, has the task of scraping away excess glaze and any impurities deposited on the skin as well as the task of remixing the glaze such as at least partially to replenish the cavities with freshened glaze. The matrix cylinder is positioned on the rest plane such as to roll thereon without dragging on a tile upper surface as the tile transits on the rest plane.
