    Abstract: A method and apparatus comprising an imaging system (10) with safety control for imaging target objects having a scanning arrangement (14) including a sensor assembly (22) for capturing an image from a target object. The sensor assembly (22) has a field-of-view focused by an optical arrangement (24) onto a sensor array (28). The imaging system further comprises an illumination assembly (18) having a housing (30), illumination source (38), light pipe (42), and projection lens (36). The illumination assembly (18) provides light energy toward the sensor assembly field-of-view for illuminating the target object to be imaged on the sensor array (28). The light pipe (42) comprises a multi-walled tapered body (52) having an input face (40). The walls of the body (52) create mirrored images of the illumination source (38), together with the projection lens redistribute the amount of light energy directed at the eyes of a human.

An imaging system makes use of an aiming pattern that impinges upon the coded indicia of a target. The imaging system includes a light monitoring pixel array and a focusing lens that is fixed with respect to the pixel array for transmitting an image of the target object onto the pixel array. The imaging system also includes a moveable prism mounted for movement along a path of travel to transmit light passing through the focusing lens onto the pixel array. A drive motor moves the prism relative the lens to adjust a focus of an image of the object formed at the pixel array.

    Abstract: The present disclosure includes an adapter and associated method of use for mobile unit (MU) charging and communication that enables multiple connector types to be utilized with a single charger or charging station. The adapter enables standardization of a connector scheme on newer MUs while maintaining compatibility with current or older MU devices. Specifically, the adapter resides between the MU and a charging device or station. The adapter may include various connector features mimicking connectors of various different MUs, thus allowing it to interface with a device of a different connector design. Advantageously, the adapter enables enterprises to deploy various cradles throughout facilities and achieves universal connections for a plurality of different MUs. In an exemplary embodiment, the adapter provides connectivity between various MUs and their associated cradles and a hook and pivoting latching system.

The ASIC is operative for storing the pixel data received by the ASIC that lies on each virtual scan line as stored pixel data. The controller is operative for decoding the stored pixel data on each virtual scan line.

The accessory includes a holder mounted on the cable exteriorly of the device, and an elongated actuator supported by the holder and extending into the device into an overlying relationship with the locking clip.     Abstract: A laser power control arrangement and method in an electro-optical reader for reading indicia includes an energizable laser for emitting a laser beam having an output power along a path. An internal light detector, e.g., a monitor photodiode, is mounted inside the laser for monitoring the output power of the laser. An external light detector, e.g., an auxiliary photodiode, is mounted outside the laser for monitoring the output power of the laser independently of the internal light detector. A guide, advantageously a light pipe or a diffuser, is positioned outside the laser in the path of the laser beam for guiding the laser beam from the laser to the external light detector. A controller is operatively connected to each light detector, for controlling a monitored output power of the laser beam by deenergizing the laser when the monitored output power of the laser beam exceeds a safe power level limit.
