  • Patent number: 7447505
Abstract: A computing arrangement may include a first radio transceiver operating in accordance with a first communication protocol using a frequency band and a second radio transceiver operating in accordance with a second communication protocol using the frequency band. An access point operates in accordance with the first communication protocol and transmits a communication signal that has a frame including a first time interval indicative of when communications using the first communication protocol via the frequency band are permitted to the computing arrangement. The computing arrangement determines if the frame includes a second time interval, which is indicative of and is reserved for exclusive communications in accordance with the second communication protocol. If the second time interval is absent from the frame, the computing arrangement inserts the second time interval into the frame. The computing arrangement communicates with a further device only during the second time interval.

Abstract: A method for decoding a Miller-encoded signal having first and second quadrature components is provided. A Miller sub-carrier signal, synchronized with the Miller-encoded signal, is recovered from the quadrature components. A first, a second, a third, and a fourth half-bit correlation coefficient are calculated from at least one quadrature component and the Miller sub-carrier signal. A cross-correlation result of the first, the second, the third, and the fourth half-bit correlation coefficient is calculated. A value for an output bit is determined from the inverse sign of the cross-correlation result.

  • Patent number: 7443809
Abstract: Techniques are provided for techniques are provided for creating a mesh network in wireless local area network comprising a plurality of wireless switches. An IP address of the registration server can be configured on each of the wireless switches and used to open an IP socket from each of the wireless switches to the registration server. Each of the wireless switches register with a registration server by communicating configuration information about each of the wireless switches to the registration server. In one implementation, the configuration information for each switch comprises a switch IP address and a list of subnets the switch supports. The configuration information can be used by the registration server to create a wireless switch list which includes a listing of each of the wireless the switches in the wireless local area network. The configuration information about each of the wireless switches and the wireless switch list can then be communicated to each of the wireless switches.

  • Patent number: 7441902
Abstract: A plurality of image projection modules is operative for causing selected pixels in overlapping raster patterns to be illuminated to produce a large size image of high resolution of VGA quality in monochrome or color. The selected pixels in an overlap region of the patterns are illuminated at a lesser intensity to provide uniform brightness over the image. Multiple single mode lasers, or a multimode laser with an aperture stop, are employed to increase laser output power. Speckle noise is reduced by controlling the optical transmission characteristic of a projection screen. Three-dimensional images are generated by moving the screen. Cross-coupling between drive and feedback mechanisms in image projection is reduced for better image quality.

  • Patent number: 7440781
Abstract: Described is a system and method for power conservation in a wireless device. The method includes switching, by a wireless computing unit, from a first communication mode to a second communication mode at a predefined time interval. The unit receives wireless signals only when in the second communication mode, and the first communication mode is a power-save mode. The unit then receives a wireless signal, and initiates a wireless connection to a wireless arrangement to obtain traffic data from the wireless arrangement when the signal includes a traffic data indicator which is indicative of existence of the traffic data. The unit switches into the first communication mode when the indicator is absent from the signal.
