    Abstract: The invention relates to a methods, compositions and kits for treating hyperglycemia and related disorders, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, impaired glucose tolerance, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy and diabetic neuropathy, and to methods, compositions and kits for treating erectile dysfunction. The methods comprise administering an inhibitor of fatty acid oxidation to a subject in need thereof. In some embodiments, trimetazidine and metformin or a phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor are administered.
