  • Patent number: 7940743
Abstract: A method and device for synchronizing a transmitter and a receiver with each other over a radio interface. A transmission signal is produced with a signal source in the transmitter and is transmitted via the radio interface. A corresponding receiver signal is received in the receiver from the radio interface and is evaluated using a receiver signal source signal from a signal source of the receiver adapted to the signal source of the transmitter. The same frequency modulation is applied to the receiver signal source signal, whereby the receiver signal received in the receiver is mixed with the receiver signal source signal to form a mixed signal and the mixed signal is analyzed with respect to frequency unbalance.

  • Publication number: 20100324864
Abstract: The invention relates to an imaging method with synthetic aperture for determining an incident angle and/or a distance of a sensor from at least one object in space, wherein at each of a number of aperture points one echo profile is sensed. Advantageously, for several angles assumed as the incident angle, one phase correction value and/or one distance correction value is calculated, adapted profiles are generated based on the echo profiles by adapting the phase with the phase correction value for each assumed angle and/or by shifting the distance with the distance correction value, for the assumed angle, the adapted profiles are summed or integrated, and a probability distribution is derived, and a probability value for the incident angle and/or for the distance is determined therefrom. A determination of the incident angle is also possible independently of the distance, wherein it is possible to only consider velocities or accelerations.

  • Publication number: 20100321235
Abstract: An imaging method is provided for imaging or locating an object with a wave-based sensor. A wave field emanates from the object as an object signal, with this object signal emanating from a sensor is received at a sensor position, and wherein the sensor(s) and the object assume a number of spatial positions with respect to each other and form a synthetic aperture, and an echo signal is sensed at each of these sensor positions, a number of function values is extracted from the echo signals, which are allocated to a space coordinate of the object, and a signal with a residual phase characteristic is formed from the function values. Based on a residual phase characteristic that is due to a deviation of real sensor positions from assumed or measured sensor positions, an image point, the object position or the relative movement of the object is determined.

  • Publication number: 20100141506
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for increasing the accuracy of a measurement of a radio-based locating system comprising a mobile station and at least one fixed station, wherein the movement of a mobile station from an initial position is detected by way of measuring data of an absolute sensor system and a relative sensor system, a virtual antenna is embodied in the form of synthetic aperture by way of measuring data and the mobile station is focused on the fixed station and/or vice versa by using the synthetic aperture.

  • Publication number: 20090285313
Abstract: A radio transmitter is provided at least comprising a signal generator for generating a continuous signal and an antenna for outputting a transmission signal, wherein at least one output of the signal generator is connected with at least one input of the antenna. Herein, the signal generator is connected with the antenna via an interrupt unit connected between the two for selectively interrupting and maintaining a signal connection between the signal generator and the antenna.

  • Patent number: 7594133
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for synchronizing clock pulse devices. According to this method, an emission unit emits at least one narrow-band distant signal; clock pulse devices of receiving units are pre-synchronized by coupling the same to the source of one such distant signal; the emission unit emits a wide-band measured signal after a defined waiting time, and the receiving units receive said signal; and the receiving units correlate the wide-band measuring signal with a homogeneously modulated comparison signal, the receiving time of the wide-band measuring signal and the deviation in the synchronization of the clock pulse devices being determined and compensated on the basis of the correlation result.

  • Publication number: 20090222589
Abstract: A circuit arrangement and a method for synchronizing clocks in a network is provided, comprising a plurality of at least two nodes, wherein at least two of said nodes can communicated with each other and each have a local clock, wherein, in a receiving one of said nodes, from at least one transmitting other such node, a global time transmitted by said transmitting one of said node of said transmitting one of said nodes is received, and a global time of said receiving node is determined or estimated as a function of both the received global time of said transmitting node and of a local time of the receiving node's own local clock.

  • Patent number: 7242259
Abstract: The invention relates to a device, especially an active backscatter transponder, for generating an oscillator signal based on a base signal. It comprises an oscillator for actively constructing the oscillator signal by oscillations, an input for the base signal and an output for the oscillator signal produced. The oscillator can be induced by the base signal to generate oscillator signal in a quasi-coherent manner to the base signal. For the transmission of data, the device further has a data insertion device for inserting data or a data signal into the oscillator signal. A corresponding suitable receiver receives and processes the received signal that was generated and transmitted by such a device as a quasi-coherent signal. A separation device removes the signal portions of the oscillator from the received signal via the base signal of a receiver-side oscillator, with a data retrieval device for retrieving the inserted data.
