Patents Assigned to Syminex
  • Patent number: 5661248
Abstract: A mechanical or acoustic excitation apparatus 26 imparts mechanical vibrations to a pipeline 12 in at least two longitudinally spaced areas of its outer surface. At least one sensor 30 is positioned in proximity to the pipeline, which collects vibration data supplied to it along the pipeline. A processing and analysis apparatus 40 derives from the vibration data information concerning the gas and liquid content of the multiphase fluid, in particular the length and rate of travel of liquid plugs and air pockets, and a control device 42 regulates intake valves of downstream petroleum equipment to adjust the intake flow rate of the phases as a function of the storage and/or treatment capacity of the equipment.

  • Patent number: 4466484
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and device for promoting oil recovery. The device according to the invention for promoting the recovery of oil contained in a reservoir formation from a well equipped with a casing, comprises an anode which is placed at the bottom of the well, below said reservoir formation, in an electro-conductive liquid, and which is connected to the positive terminal of a direct or pulsed source of unidirectional voltage. Said casing is connected to the negative terminal of said source. The method consists in applying a unidirectional voltage for periods varying between several days and several months and alternating with OFF-period (when no voltage is applied).

  • Patent number: 4400980
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for detecting changes in the mechanical state of the members of a structure implanted in the sea, whereby each member is subjected to impacts and after each impact, the simultaneous signals of excitation and dynamical response of the member are recorded, the signals of identical frequency being processed in order to define a ratio which varies with the frequency and presents peaks. The aforesaid operations are repeated at regular intervals, a watch being kept for any shifts in the peaks which could indicate a change in the structure.

  • Patent number: 4103158
Abstract: The invention relates to method and apparatus for geophysical prospecting by radioactive diagraphy of a drillhole, using a probe containing a radioactive source and one or two detectors of delayed particles emitted by the terrain bombarded by the said source. The source is moved periodically, within the probe, vertically away from the detector, and the detector is moved, in synchronism with the said source, in order to locate it opposite the zone which has just been bombarded.
