    Abstract: A telephone number status is rapidly and easily examined to update a telephone number list. Telephone numbers stored in a telephone number list are sequentially transmitted from an ISDN line to a telephone line in a digital communication mode for making calls, and the status of each called telephone line is determined from connection information or from a line disconnect reason received from an associated station.
