Abstract: A thermal scale radio frequency label which includes a top layer of thermal paper of 20-60 lb weight with an RF antenna mounted on the thermal paper. The RF antenna includes a single turn inductor coil having a width of not less than 5 mm and not more than 13 mm. The inductor coil has a thickness in the range of 30-60 um and covers an area of at least 55×49 mm. A capacitative layer is provided having a thickness in the range of 30-60 um. A dielectric layer is positioned between the capacitative layer and the inductor coil. A plurality of electrical connections are provided between the capacitative layer and the inductor coil. The electrical connections are capable of being deactivated by RF energy.
