Abstract: A process for the continuous mass polymerization of olefinically unsaturated monomers in the presence of a polymerization initiator. The polymerization is carried out in one or more tubular reactors provided with internal static mixing elements. A portion of the reaction mass produced in the reactor is recirculated back to the reactor as feed.

Abstract: Thermosetting moulding material comprising an unsaturated polyester, a copolymerizable vinyl monomer and other additives are disclosed which contain as a shrinkage-reducing additive a copolymer of styrene with 2 to 10% by weight of an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, and 15 to 40% by weight of a dialkyl ester of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid. These compositions may be used as casting resins, in dough-moulding and in sheet-moulding to prepare dimensionally stable objects with a smooth surface and homogeneous coloration.
Abstract: In emulsion polymerizations the improvement of using a mixture of phosphate esters of the formula (RO).sub.2 PO(OH) and (RO)PO(OH).sub.2, where RO is an alkoxy radical of an unsaturated polymerizable alcohol of 2 to 12 carbon atoms, or of A-B which is derived from A and B where A is an acid radical of an unsaturated polymerizable carboxylic acid of 3 to 25 carbon atoms and B is a radical of a divalent alcohol, in an amount of between 0.1, and 15% by weight based on the total weight of polymerizable compounds.
Abstract: An emulsifier of the formula (RO) (TO)PO(OH) where RO is an alkoxy of an unsaturated polymerizable alcohol or is ABO alkoxy wherein A is a carboxylate of 3-25 carbon atoms and B is a dialkoxy group of a diol, wherein TO is an alkoxy of a branched or unbranched aliphatic alcohol, of polyoxyalkylated alkyl phenols, of addition products of ethylene oxide and aliphatic alcohols or of addition products of alkalene oxides and aliphatic alcohols, for emulsion polymerizations of addition polymers.
