Abstract: Methods of orthopedic fixation and imagery analysis are provided. Images of first and second bone segments attached to a fixation apparatus are captured. Fixator elements identified in the images can be used to obtain imaging scene parameters. Bone elements identified in the images can be used with the imaging scene parameters to reconstruct a three dimensional representation of positions and/or orientations of the first and second bone segments with respect to the fixation apparatus.
Abstract: A method of revising a patient having a fusion cage implanted within a spinal column, involving percutaneously delivering a first end of a tube to the spinal column, fluidly connecting the first end of the tube to the fusion cage, and delivering a bone growth agent into the fusion cage through the tube.
Abstract: A modular bone fixation linkage includes a plurality of interconnected links that can angulate with respect to an adjacent one of the links about at least one axis, such as three axes. The links can further include fixation holes that are configured to receive bone anchors that secure the links to an underlying anatomical structure.

Abstract: Stents generally can include multiple longitudinal elements each extending over a majority of the length of the stent and each having alternating flexible and rigid segments. The stents can include nodes positioned between the flexible and rigid segments on the longitudinal elements and interconnecting members extending circumferentially to connect adjacent longitudinal elements at the nodes. The longitudinal elements can have a wave pattern and the interconnecting members can have a branch structure connecting peaks from one longitudinal element to troughs of an adjacent longitudinal element. The resulting stent structure can have lateral and longitudinal flexibility needed to navigate and conform to intracranial arteries with the benefits of recapturability and structural integrity of a closed cell design.
Abstract: A method of forming an access opening through a psoas muscle to a patient's spine includes laterally inserting a stimulating dilator into the psoas muscle. The stimulating dilator has a stimulation channel formed in an outer surface thereof. An electrical pulse is transmitted into the stimulating dilator to locate a position of a nerve in the patient's psoas muscle. The stimulating dilator is laterally inserted through the psoas muscle and toward the patient's spine in a way that avoids the nerve. A stimulating probe is inserted into the stimulation channel along the outer surface of the stimulating dilator while transmitting an electrical pulse into the stimulating probe to verify the position of the nerve.
Abstract: A bone plate includes locking holes that reconfigured to threadedly mate with locking screws to fix the bone plate to an underlying bone. Some of the locking holes are standard-type locking holes. Alternatively or additionally, some of the locking holes are variable-angle locking holes. The bone plate defines a collection cavity in the locking holes that are configured to collect shavings that can be produced if the bone screw is cross threaded in the locking hole.

Abstract: A method of delivering a catheter to a location of interest in the vasculature, the method including positioning a self-expanding sheath within a lumen of the catheter; advancing the catheter and the self-expanding sheath in tandem over a guidewire; and distally moving a distal end of the self-expanding sheath out from the lumen of the catheter thereby causing the self-expanding sheath to move from a collapsed state within the catheter to an expanded state outside the catheter, wherein when the self-expanding sheath is in the expanded state both the self-expanding sheath and the catheter are distally advanceable in tandem.

Abstract: A glenoid component includes a laterally facing bearing surface configured to engage a bearing surface of an element associated with a humerus, and a stem portion extending medially away from the bearing surface. The stem portion is configured such that when implanted in a scapula the stem portion includes three cross-sections parallel to a medial lateral plane. The middle cross-section has a length in the medial-lateral direction which is shorter than the lengths of the other two cross-sections in the medial lateral direction.

Abstract: The steerable catheter invention facilitates the tracking and selection of branch vessels, as well as provide the means for stiffening the catheter body across the tortuosity to anchor the catheter and minimize the potential for the catheter backing out of position while delivering interventional devices to the distal anatomy.
Abstract: The helical balloon assist device includes a tubular balloon formed at least partially into an independent helical shape in an uninflated state and an inflation tube in sealed communication with the balloon and extending from the helical balloon assist device in a proximal direction. The helical balloon assist device may include an inner core member formed at least partially into an independent helical shape and supporting the helical shape of the tubular balloon.
Abstract: A venturi pump can provide suction through a catheter during an intravascular treatment. The venturi pump can have a supply port, exhaust port, and vacuum inlet such that a fluidic flow from the supply port to the exhaust port produces suction at the vacuum inlet due to the Venturi effect. A device or assembly can include the venturi pump, a flow regulator, and a sealable entrance sized to receive the catheter. The flow regulator can be manipulated to adjust suction through the vacuum inlet of the venturi pump. The device or assembly can have an exit and a passageway between the entrance and the exit to allow a pull wire, Intermediate Catheter, or other clot retrieval system elongated member to pass therethrough and be manipulated during the intravascular treatment.
Abstract: A method, including assembling a plurality of expansion rings to a lumen of the braided stent body, the lumen of the braided stent body being formed by a plurality of braided members, each expansion ring comprising a frame defined by a plurality of interconnected support assemblies comprising a plurality of legs joined at a first intersection and connected to one of the other interconnected support assemblies at a second intersection opposite the first intersection, the legs being twistable about the first and second intersections; and a claw portion disposed opposite the first and second intersections.

Abstract: An improved tibial plateau leveling osteotomy plate is disclosed. The plate is contoured in its proximal head portion to more closely resemble the structure of the tibial bone segment that is cut and rotated during the procedure. The plate also preferably has screw holes in the proximal head portion that are machined through the pre-contoured proximal head portion and are designed to angle the screw in a targeted screw path with respect to the osteotomy.

Abstract: A device for treating an aneurysm with a braided implant can include a delivery tube having a spiral groove on an outer surface of the delivery tube and a braided implant having a spiral segment. The spiral segment can engage the spiral groove as the braided implant is delivered to an aneurysm treatment site. At the treatment site, the braided implant can be implanted, and the delivery tube can be rotated to disengage the spiral segment from the spiral groove. Once released, the spiral segment can reshape to occlude the neck of the aneurysm.
