Publication number: 20140180601Abstract: An analysis system for biological samples is disclosed that includes at least one analyzer with an analytical unit for analyzing the biological samples and an analyzer controller. The analysis system further includes an analyzer data management system (ADMS) operable for receiving a selection of an operating environment chosen from multiple operating environments. In some embodiments, an analytical system is provided which offers a switch between sample testing and software validation on the same hardware, thereby offering efficiency and flexibility. For example, if sample testing is typically restricted to a particular time of the day (e.g., blood banks often get their samples in the evening and conduct the sample testing at night), the daytime hours can be used to validate new software. In such a case, additional instruments for software validation are not required and expensive idle times of analytical systems are reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2013Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: Roche Molecular Systems, Inc.Inventors: Paul Frank, Sascha Roehrig, Stephan Schweighauser

Publication number: 20140181029Abstract: Performing data management operations on replicated data in a computer network. Log entries are generated for data management operations of an application executing on a source system. Consistency point entries are used to indicate a time of a known good, or recoverable, state of the application. A destination system is configured to process a copy of the log and consistency point entries to replicate data in a replication volume, the replicated data being a copy of the application data on the source system. When the replicated data represents a known good state of the application, as determined by the consistency point entries, the destination system(s) may perform a storage operation (e.g., snapshot, backup) to copy the replicated data and to logically associate the copied data with a time information (e.g., time stamp) indicative of the source system time when the application was in the known good state.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2013Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: CommVault Systems, Inc.Inventor: Andrei Erofeev

Patent number: 8762009Abstract: An impact sensor calibration tool, wherein an impact sensor is installed on a vehicle and in wireless communication with a processor, which analyzes data reported by the impact sensor. Specifically, the impact sensor of the present invention continuously measures two dimensional acceleration of a vehicle. Changes in vehicle acceleration create impulse data and the impact sensor reports this data to a processor. The processor performs statistical calculations on the data to identify the vehicle's normal use operation and from this, develops an impact threshold wherein impulses exceeding this threshold are identified as impacts. The impacts may be further characterized as real impacts and stored in memory for subsequent analysis.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2010Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: I.D. Patent number: 8762914Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for constraint verification for implementing electronic circuit designs with electrical awareness. Some embodiments identify or set parasitic constraint(s) and compare the electrical parasitic(s) with corresponding parasitic constraint(s) to determine whether the parasitic constraints are met. Some embodiments first identify, determine, or update the physical data of a component of a partial layout and characterize the electrical parasitics associated with the physical data of the component. Some embodiments identify or determine some schematic level performance constraints and estimate parasitic constraints based on schematic simulation results and the performance constraints; the estimated parasitic constraints are then compared with the corresponding electrical parasitics to determine whether the constraints are satisfied.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2010Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Cadence Design Systems, Inc.Inventors: Ed Fischer, Michael McSherry, David White, Bruce Yanagida, Akshat Shah

Patent number: 8762491Abstract: Technology is disclosed herein for executing multiple gaming applications on a computing device. According to at least one embodiment, a computing device receives requests for network connections with remote servers from multiple gaming applications running on the computing device. The computing device further establishes a network connection with a proxy server. The proxy server initiates and maintains proxy network connections with the remote servers. The proxy server batches network messages received from the remote servers, where the network messages includes gaming content. The proxy server aggregates network messages received in a time period into a single batch, where a time length of the time period is determined based on one or more game events of the games being played on the computing device. Further, the proxy server batches network messages such that the computing device stays at a high power consumption state for a shorter time period than an overall time period required without batching.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2014Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Nextbit Systems Inc.Inventor: Michael A. Patent number: 8758693Abstract: A valve lift mechanism for actuating a valve in the vertical direction, and a regenerative thermal oxidizer including the valve and lift mechanism is disclosed. The valve is allowed to move vertically and oscillating rotary motion is possible. Vertical movement is achieved using the valve lift mechanism without the use of compressed air. In certain embodiments, the valve lift mechanism includes a torque motor. Preferably, a non self-locking screw jack is used to adjust the vertical height of the valve. Vertical movement can reduce the torque needed to rotate the valve, and also facilitates servicing of the valve. For example, if the valve experiences high temperature, and consequently expands, rotating the valve against the mating seal plate can be difficult, if not impossible. By lowering the valve slightly, the frictional forces between the valve and the mating seal plate are reduced, allowing freer rotational movement of the valve.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2009Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: MegTec Systems, Inc.Inventor: Michael P.
