Abstract: Methods and systems are described for performing storage operations on electronic data in a network. In response to the initiation of a storage operation and according to a first set of selection logic, a media management component is selected to manage the storage operation. In response to the initiation of a storage operation and according to a second set of selection logic, a network storage device to associate with the storage operation. The selected media management component and the selected network storage device perform the storage operation on the electronic data.

Abstract: The invention relates to an impact-resistant and energy-absorbing item of street furniture comprising only a post, a base plate and an energy-absorbing element, wherein the post and the base plate are shaped in such a manner that, when the post is loaded by an external force F just above the base plate, an obliquely, downwardly directed sliding movement of the post relative to the base plate is obtained, which is damped by the energy-absorbing element, not only in the lengthwise direction n of the street furniture, but also in the direction perpendicular to that lengthwise direction.
Abstract: A compact ignition system for chemical oxygen generators for possible use in an aircraft. The chemical oxygen generator is configured such that a majority of the ignition system can be accommodated within an interior of the generator body. In some embodiments, the ignition system is positioned within a recess of an upper surface of the core of the generator. Housing a majority of the ignition system within the generator allows the overall oxygen-generating capacity of the generator to be increased without requiring a corresponding increase in the overall length of the generator.

Abstract: To increase the accuracy of identification of nuisance calls, a list generation device acquires, as input data, at least one of information included in second history information and an evaluation value stored in a user evaluation database. The list generation device calculates a nuisance level for a telephone numbers of each caller based on a factor determined by the acquired input data. The list generation device compares the calculated nuisance level with threshold to generate shared list including the telephone number of the caller who makes an incoming call identified as a nuisance call.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to storing data in a storage system. Data portions may be provided from blocks of write data provided by client computers. A storage location identifier may be associated with each data portion based on the content of the each data portion. Data portions may be stored in a memory buffer that may correspond to the storage location identifiers. If an amount of data stored in the memory buffer exceeds a threshold value, or if a maximum latency time expires, the data portions are stored on a storage location that corresponds to the memory buffer, such that, the maximum latency time is selected to prevent a collision caused by simultaneously storing of data portions in the same storage location. A write acknowledgement message may be provided to the client computers indicating that the blocks of write data are stored to stable storage.

Abstract: An interactive activation system having a base with a display module that projects two or more icons. The display module is connected to the base. A case is connected to the base and covers the display output module. The case has one or more apertures that aligned with the display output module in a manner that allows the two or more icons to be projected through the one or more apertures. An output screen is connected to the case and has at least one reflective surface that is positioned relative to the one or more apertures of the case. This allows the two or more icons projected by the display output module to be reflected by the reflective surface of the output screen toward a viewing zone.

Abstract: Plasma is generated using elemental hydrogen, a weak oxidizing agent, and a fluorine containing gas. An inert gas is introduced to the plasma downstream of the plasma source and upstream of a showerhead that directs gas mixture into the reaction chamber where the mixture reacts with the high-dose implant resist. The process removes both the crust and bulk resist layers at a high strip rate, and leaves the work piece surface substantially residue free with low silicon loss.

Abstract: A memory controller system optimally controls access to a memory device having a plurality of integrated circuit (IC) chips disposed in a non-uniform stack configuration within a three-dimensional stacked (3DS) structure. A memory profiling portion executes to determine the non-uniform stack configuration. A virtual rank mapping portion configured to assign virtual ranks to chip locations actually defined by the non-uniform stack configuration. An address conversion portion executes to convert an unoptimized address definable with reference to a uniform stack configuration to an optimized address defined with reference to the non-uniform stack configuration. The addressing overhead during monitoring of data access operations to the memory device is optimized.
Abstract: The methods described herein allow for the classification of patients into groups for receiving optimized radiation treatment based on patient specific biomarker signature. The biomarker signature includes markers that have been shown to correlate with TGF-? expression and to be associated with tumor aggressiveness, radioresistance and poor prognosis. The markers play a key role in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition. The methods described herein provide the dual benefits of anti-tumor efficacy plus normal tissue protection when combining TGF-? inhibitors with ionizing radiation to treat cancer patients.
