  • Patent number: 5045859
Abstract: A phase reference navigation system and method employs a plurality of fixed narrow beamwidth antennas arranged to cover a predetermined angular sector and such that the patterns of adjacent antennas crossover one another at their half-power points. Each antenna radiates an RF carrier which is amplitude modulated by a reference phase signal and by one of two different frequency subcarriers. Adjacent antennas radiate different frequency subcarriers. Each subcarrier is frequency modulated by a variable phase signal which has a phase relative to the reference signal which corresponds to the direction of orientation of the antenna from which that subcarrier radiates. A receiver simultaneously receives the RF energy radiated by two adjacent antennas. Upon demodulation, the two variable phase signals are recovered and combined to produce a resultant signal which has a phase that varies as a function of angle between the two antennas.

  • Patent number: 4298867
Abstract: Disclosed is a cathode ray tube (CRT) character generator system which includes delay apparatus for storing digitally generated raster control signals. Raster control signals thus stored are combined with more recent raster control signals in an analog fashion in order to generate a composite, or interpolated, raster control signal which is resolved in horizontal time increments of finer resolution than that obtainable from the original digitally generated raster control signal. Raster control signals of prior horizontal scan lines are also compared with those of more recent horizontal scan lines in order to detect the steepness of the slope, if any, along the edges of the character to be displayed. A rise-time control signal is generated to control the rise and fall times of the interpolated raster control signal in proportion to this detected slope.

  • Patent number: 4185423
Abstract: Design, fabrication and erection of a lightweight building module in the form of a ribbed concrete floor slab with lightweight thin concrete wall panels and ceiling panel reinforced by a series of spaced rigid annular open web frames. Each frame includes a floor reinforcing member, two side wall reinforcing member, and a ceiling reinforcing member, rigidly welded together at their adjacent ends. Each reinforcing member is an open web joist having two parallel straight rods spaced apart by an open web member formed by bending a rod in a zig-zag pattern. Longitudinal spacing of adjacent bends is greater in the central portion than the ends of the reinforcing members. A poured concrete roof slab is formed with integral reinforcing ribs by means of rectangular spacers made of light weight material.

  • Patent number: 4107886
Abstract: A prefabricated building module comprising at least two side-walls, a ceiling, and a floor. In one embodiment of the building module, the walls, ceiling and floor each include a thin, continuous layer of a concrete-like material having spaced-apart, open web bar girders embedded in one surface thereof. The two side-walls, the ceiling and the floor are assembled together with the bar girders extending outwardly and are rigidly attached to one another, for example, by welding the ends of the bar girders to one another, thus forming a rigid, box-like building module. The building modules can be formed into a building by placing one layer of building modules with one side-wall of each module adjacent to but spaced-apart from one side-wall of a different module.
