  • Publication number: 20070169059
Abstract: This invention describes a compilation method of extracting and implementing an accelerator control program from an application source code in a processor based system. The application source code comprises arrays and loops. The input application source code is sequential, with loop, branch and call control structures, while the generated output of this invention has parallel execution semantics. The compilation method comprises the step of performing loop nest analysis, transformations and backend processes. The step of loop nest analysis consists of dependence analysis and pointer analysis. Dependence analysis determines the conflicts between the various references to arrays in the loop, and pointer analysis determines if two pointer references in a loop are in conflict. Transformations convert the loops from their original sequential execution semantics to parallel execution semantics. The back-end process determines the parameters and memory map of the accelerator and the hardware dependent software.

  • Patent number: 7246295
Abstract: A turbo decoder iteratively decodes a received, encoded signal with one or more constituent decoders employing a simplified log-maximum a posteriori (SMAP) decoding algorithm. The SMAP decoding algorithm calculates reliability information as a log likelihood ratio for a log-MAP algorithm using a reduced set of path metrics recursively updated based on maximum likelihood recursion. Updated extrinsic information for a subsequent decoding may be derived from the LLR calculated by the SMAP decoding algorithm.

  • Patent number: 7246055
Abstract: An open system for multiple discrete, geographically disperse simulation engines to communicate with each other across a distributed electronic network, such as the Internet, comprises a portal accessible to the simulation engines over the network. Local portions of the simulation may be run separately by each simulation engine, and the output data files are stored on and managed by the portal. A co-simulating engine may request an output data file stored by the portal and use that data as input for its downstream portion of the simulation. In this fashion, multiple geographically disperse simulation engines can test bench their designs in an open, network centric simulation environment.

  • Patent number: 7244110
Abstract: An electrically powered axial-flow fan has a hub to house the motor and support the fan blades. Small blades or vanes on the inside of the hub function as a radial-flow blower to draw cooling air through cooling ports on the electric motor housing. The vanes inside the hub cooperate with a flange surrounding the motor to form a low pressure chamber under the hub to improve cooling flow through the motor. This motor cooling air flow is then ejected into the exhaust stream of the axial-flow fan.

  • Patent number: 7245468
Abstract: An ESD power clamp utilizes both a transient triggering method integrated together with a voltage level detection circuit to disable a MOSFET transistor forming the ESD power clamp unless the voltage level on a relevant power supply rail is higher than a predetermined level above the normal power supply voltage. When the voltage level of the power supply rail is higher than the predetermined level (e.g., 10% higher, 25% higher, etc.), then the power surge is presumed to be an ESD pulse, and thus the ESD power clamp is enabled to turn ON and discharge the ESD power surge.
