Abstract: An aircraft monitoring system is disclosed that is comprised of a fisheye lens system and a data storage system. The fisheye lens system is configured to mount in an aircraft. The fisheye lens system captures images that represent a hemispherical field of view of about 180-degrees. The field of view is of an interior portion of the aircraft. The fisheye lens system transfers the images to the data storage system. The data storage system stores the images. The interior portion of the aircraft could be the cockpit, cabin, luggage compartment, or some other area in the aircraft. The aircraft monitoring system further includes an independent power supply that operates even if the aircraft loses power. In some examples, the fisheye lens system also transfers the images to a video transmitter. The video transmitter transmits the images to a receiver on the ground to provide video monitoring of the aircraft.

Abstract: A hardware emulator chip contains an array of cells and a programmable interconnection array. Each cell performs only a single logic function, which is configurable. The chips run asynchronously to one another, and within each chip cells are enabled by a sequential wave signal, which enables successive logical rows of cells. Within the chip, it is possible to connect any arbitrary cell output to any arbitrary cell input. Preferably, a set of off-chip connections is made possible by time-multiplexing the output of each subset to the wave signal. In one embodiment, full interconnection of cells within a chip is provided by providing a time-multiplexed programmable array of interconnect switches, the setting of each switch changing with each successive wave. In a second embodiment, full interconnection of cells within a chip is provided by providing a programmable array of interconnect switches.

Abstract: An airbag module comprises an airbag inflatable through an opening in the airbag. An airbag inflator provides an inflation gas into the opening in the airbag. A flap has a first position permitting gas to flow to the opening in the airbag and a second position deflecting inflation gas away fro the opening in the airbag. A propellant discharges into a discharge space moving the flap between the first position to the second position. A hood at least partially covers the discharge space.
Abstract: A signal processor, for use with a zero crossing module of a vortex flow meter, includes a peak amplitude detector, a comparator, and a filter module. The filter module is enabled when the comparator determines that the amplitude is less than a low flow rate threshold. The filter module filters a vortex signal and the filtered signal is provided to a frequency estimator that uses a zero crossing algorithm. The signal processor may increase the signal-to-noise ratio at low flow rates for which the frequency estimator may not otherwise be able to accurately estimate the flow rate. Low flow rates may be measured by determining that there is a low flow rate using amplitude detection of a vortex signal, filtering the vortex signal based on the amplitude detection, and using a zero crossing algorithm on the filtered vortex signal.
Abstract: The invention replicates a packet requiring high availability and transmits it from two or more ports of a switch, for example a wiring closet Layer 2 switch. The parent packet carries a unique sequence number. The copies of the packet each carry the parent packet's unique sequence number. Each copy of the packet then travels on separate pathways through routers (Layer 3 network devices). The pathways are maintained separate by assigning high costs in a LSP routing sense to links connecting the two paths, and by assigning low costs to links along the desired paths. The two identical packets converge on the destination station. The destination station accepts the first packet with a particular sequence number, and discards any later packets with the same sequence number. In the event that a link in one path has a catastrophic failure, then the packet travelling along the other path reaches the destination station and service remains operative without interruption.

Abstract: A Huffman algorithm is applied to revise the topology of a data flow graph. The result of the application of the algorithm is an increase in the sizes of at least some clusters (i.e., enhanced mergeability). The Huffman rebalancing of the topology may also result in the benefit of allowing further pruning of the bitwidths of data flow paths, which may further enhance mergeability. Thus, the algorithm may be applied with a maximum information content analysis.
Abstract: A method for installing an airbag assembly within a steering wheel assembly includes locating an airbag module engagement member with a corresponding armature engagement member. Once aligned, an operator presses downward on the airbag cover until switch engagement members engage their corresponding switch assembly receivers within the airbag cover. A clearance is formed between each armature engagement members and the corresponding airbag module engagement members when the module is mounted to the molded armature. Thus the switch assemblies support the airbag module.

Abstract: An improved flip chip assembly is disclosed of the type where a semiconductor chip having a certain thermal expansion coefficient is directly mounted via solder bumps on the metallization pattern of a circuit substrate having a different thermal expansion coefficient. A base layer comprised of a polymer material is disposed over the surface of the chip, between the chip and the substrate, and the solder bumps are placed over the base layer; the base layer modifies the effective thermal expansion coefficient of the solder bumps to approximate that of the substrate, thus reducing the thermal expansion coefficient differential at the junction of the chip and the substrate.
