  • Patent number: 10471828
Abstract: Exception event recorders and analysis systems include: vehicle mounted sensors arranged as a vehicle event recorder to capture both discrete and non-discrete data; a discretization facility; a database; and an analysis server all coupled together as a computer network. Motor vehicles with video cameras and onboard diagnostic systems capture data when the vehicle is involved in a crash or other anomaly (an ‘event’). In station where interpretation of non-discrete data is rendered, i.e. a discretization facility, captured data is used as a basis for production of supplemental discrete data to further characterize the event. Such interpreted data is joined to captured data and inserted into a database in a structure which is searchable and which supports logical or mathematical analysis by automated machines. A coupled analysis server is arranged to test stored data for prescribed conditions and upon finding such, to initiate further actions appropriate for the detected condition.

  • Patent number: 10476747
Abstract: A networking device includes: 1) a first processor that includes a match table, and 2) a second processor that includes both a Flow Tracking Autolearning Match Table (FTAMT) as well as a synchronized match table. A set of multiple entries stored in the synchronized match table is synchronized with a corresponding set of multiple entries in the match table on the first processor. The FTAMT, for a first packet of the flow, generates a Flow Identifier (ID) and stores the flow ID as part of a new entry for the flow. The match of a packet to one of the synchronized entries in the synchronized match table causes an action identifier to be recorded in the new entry in the FTAMT. A subsequent packet of the flow results in a hit in the FTAMT and results in the previously recorded action being applied to the subsequent packet.

  • Patent number: 10475171
Abstract: A satellite imaging system uses multiple cameras. For example, the incoming light from a telescope section of the satellite goes through a dichroic beam splitter, with the standard visible spectrum going to a first camera and wavelengths outside of the standard visible spectrum, such as in the infrared or coastal blue range, are sent to a second camera, allowing image data from multiple wavelength ranges to be captured simultaneously. The image data from the different wavelengths of the two cameras can then be selectively recombined. In a more general case, there is a first range of wavelengths and a second range of wavelengths.

  • Patent number: 10474958
Abstract: We have invented a process and method for creating a general-purpose adaptive or static machine-learning classifier using prediction by partial matching (PPM) language modeling. This classifier can incorporate homogeneous or heterogeneous feature types; variable-size contexts; sequential or non-sequential features. Features are ordered (linearized) by information saliency; and truncation of least-informative context is used for backoff to handle previously unseen events. Labels may be endogenous (from within the group) or exogenous (outside the group) of the feature types. Classification may generate labels and their probabilities; or only labels. Classification stores may be complete or minimized where redundant states are removed producing significant space savings and performance improvements. Classifiers may be static (unchanging) or online (adaptive or updatable incrementally or in batch). PPM classifiers may be incorporated in ensembles of other PPM classifiers or different machine learning algorithms.

  • Patent number: 10474483
Abstract: Virtual machine (VM) proliferation may be reduced through the use of Virtual Server Agents (VSAs) assigned to a group of VM hosts that may determine the availability of a VM to perform a task. Tasks may be assigned to existing VMs instead of creating a new VM to perform the task. Furthermore, a VSA coordinator may determine a grouping of VMs or VM hosts based on one or more factors associated with the VMs or the VM hosts, such as VM type or geographical location of the VM hosts. The VSA coordinator may also assign one or more VSAs to facilitate managing the group of VM hosts. In some embodiments, the VSA coordinators may facilitate load balancing of VSAs during operation, such as during a backup operation, a restore operation, or any other operation between a primary storage system and a secondary storage system.

  • Patent number: 10474538
Abstract: Rather than relying on pre-defined scheduling of secondary copy operations such as backup jobs, the illustrative opportunistic approach initiates secondary copy operations based on changing operational conditions in a storage management system. An adaptive backup readiness score is based on a number of backup-readiness operational factors. An illustrative enhanced data agent which is associated with the target database application (or other executable component) may monitor the operational factors and determine the backup readiness score based on weights assigned to the respective operational factors. The enhanced data agent may evaluate recent backup jobs to determine which of the operational factors that contributed to the backup readiness score may have been most relevant.

  • Patent number: 10474388
Abstract: An exemplary system preserves the autonomy of two or more distinct storage management systems all the while enabling backed up data to be restored from a first storage management system (the “local system”) to a specially-configured client in a second storage management system (the “remote system”). For example, backed up data in the local system (e.g., a secondary copy of production data) may be transferred, in a restore operation, from secondary storage in the local storage management system, which originated the data, to a client of the remote storage management system (the “remote client”). As a specially-configured “restore-only client,” the remote client is limited to receiving backed up data from the local storage management system, via restore operation(s) managed by the local storage manager. The remote client remains a full-fledged client in its home system, the remote storage management system.
