  • Patent number: 9247026
Abstract: A method and system for preventing a local display device from, displaying data generated by a remote computing device is described. The system includes a local agent for facilitating a remote session; an operating system generating a request to enable a display device controlled by a display adapter; and a filter executing in a driver and in communication with the local agent, the filter intercepting the request generated by the operating system. The filter transmits the request to the local agent when a remote user is active or to the display adapter when the remote user is inactive. The filter will transmits a signal to the operating system that the display adapter has enabled the display device when the filter transmits the request to at least one of the local agent and the display adapter.

  • Patent number: 9247665
Abstract: An interruptible power supply with a power isolation circuit loop has a base with a battery chamber defined in the base, a fixed top cover, and a movable top cover. The battery chamber serves to receive a battery. The fixed top cover and the movable top cover are mounted on two ends of the base, and the movable top cover corresponds to the battery chamber. The fixed top cover has a loop switch therein connected with a power loop and having an actuation member to switch on or off the power loop. When the movable top cover is mounted on the base, an urging member formed on the movable top cover triggers the actuation member of the loop switch to connect with the power loop. When the movable top cover is removed, the power loop is disconnected. Accordingly, the UPS is economical in terms of parts, cost and space utilization.

  • Patent number: 9246822
Abstract: Methods for providing layered gear mechanism to enable optimal transmission of data packets includes identifying types of data that are scheduled for transmission over a network. Data packets are generated at different depths for a particular type of data identified for transmission, wherein the data packets are generated at a source. The data packets of different depths are transmitted in different layers over a network, to a destination, wherein each layer of data packets corresponds to a specific depth. Response for the data packets transmitted in each layer is collected from the network as the data packets progress along the network. The response is analyzed to identify network transmission characteristics for each layer. A depth is selected for transmitting subsequent data packets for the particular data type based on the network transmission characteristics obtained through the analysis.

  • Patent number: 9243931
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are presented for calibrating or otherwise correcting the pointing accuracy of a gimbal. Measurements of the actual planes of rotation of each of a gimbal's rotatable elements is made using an off-board measurement device, such as a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The measurements from the off-board device can be combined with those from native, on-board gimbal sensors of the rotation angles at which the planes are tilted/pitched with respect to their nominal planes of rotation. Information representing the error vectors between the nominal and actual planes of rotation is stored and used for correcting the pointing accuracy of the gimbal. The corrected pointing vector of the gimbal can be combined with measurements from an inertial measurement unit (INU) and rangefinder in order to accurately determine a geographic target position to which the gimbal points.

  • Patent number: 9244172
Abstract: An optimum measurement subset with a specified number n of elements is generated from a set of N>n weighted input global navigation satellite system (GNSS) measurements. A group of trial measurement subsets is generated by removing a different individual weighted input GNSS measurement from the set. A value of accuracy criterion for a target parameter is calculated for each trial measurement subset, and the trial measurement subset with the minimum value of accuracy criterion is selected. A new group of trial measurement subsets is generated by removing a different individual weighted GNSS measurement from the previously selected trial measurement subset. A value of accuracy criterion is calculated for each new trial measurement subset, and a new trial measurement subset with the new minimum value of accuracy criterion is selected. The process is repeated until the selected trial measurement subset has the specified number n of elements.

  • Patent number: 9244130
Abstract: Real-time battery impedance spectrum is acquired using a one-time record. Fast Summation Transformation (FST) is a parallel method of acquiring a real-time battery impedance spectrum using a one-time record that enables battery diagnostics. An excitation current to a battery is a sum of equal amplitude sine waves of frequencies that are octave harmonics spread over a range of interest. A sample frequency is also octave and harmonically related to all frequencies in the sum. A time profile of this sampled signal has a duration that is a few periods of the lowest frequency. A voltage response of the battery, average deleted, is an impedance of the battery in a time domain. Since the excitation frequencies are known and octave and harmonically related, a simple algorithm, FST, processes the time profile by rectifying relative to sine and cosine of each frequency. Another algorithm yields real and imaginary components for each frequency.
