Patent number: 10935668Abstract: An antenna receiver has antenna elements that are arranged in an array and spaced apart from each other at a distance greater than one-half wavelength of the highest operating frequency of a signal that is to be detected by the antenna receiver. The antenna receiver has geolocation logic that uses the inter-element phase difference measurements to obtain a location of the signal source. The change in the inter-element phase differences enables the elements to be spaced apart at great distances, which is beneficial for the physical construction of the platform, as the elements may be easily placed at convenient locations for conformal aerodynamic properties.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2018Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventor: Richard E. Publication number: 20210048507Abstract: The discriminability of an RF fingerprint is increased by “abstracting,” “enhancing,” and “reconstructing” a digital signal before it is transmitted, where the abstraction is a reversible nonlinear compression, the enhancement is a modification of the abstracted data, and the reconstruction is a mapping-back of the abstraction. During a training phase, for each individual RF transmitter, RF fingerprints are analyzed and candidate enhancements are modified until a successful enhancement is identified that provides satisfactory discriminability improvement with minimal signal degradation. The successful enhancement is implemented in the RF transmitter, and the RF fingerprint is communicated to receivers for subsequent detection and verification. Reinforcement learning can direct modifications to the candidate enhancements. The abstraction can implement a deep generative model such as an auto-encoder.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2019Publication date: February 18, 2021Applicant: BAE SYSTEMS Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: Scott A. Publication number: 20210033371Abstract: An optical seeker assembly having an optical detector located within the wing or canards of a precision guided munition. The optical seeker provides on-wing processing that generates low bandwidth detection data that can be easily transferred to a primary CPU located within the main body or fuselage of the precision guided munition. The on-wing processing reduces or eliminates the need for optical fibers extending between an optical wedge and an optical detector to reduce the likelihood of optical fibers from impeding in the mechanical deployment of the wing and reduces losses. The reduction or elimination of optical fibers between the optical wedge and the optical detector further enables the optical detection assembly to have a higher pixel ratio or transmitting raw data between the wedge and the detector by sending sampled detection data across a low bandwidth link to a CPU in the main body.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2019Publication date: February 4, 2021Applicant: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: Robert D.
