Abstract: An example operation may provide receiving, at a server, one or more communications from a drone, determining the one or more communications identify a drone identifier and a current time, determining whether the one or more communications were received within a time window, assigning a token to the identified drone indicating the drone is active, and storing the token as a transaction in memory.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for recursively determining a modulation index for controlling a DC-to-AC inverter. A modulation index can be selected initially. The input voltage to the power inverter can be measured. Based on the input voltage and the selected modulation index, an output voltage of the power inverter may be estimated. The output current of the power inverter can be measured. Using the estimated output voltage and the measured output current, a real power and a reactive power can be determined. The real power and the reactive power can be used to determine an updated modulation index. The updated modulation index factor can be used to generate pulse width modulation signals that are used to control the power inverter.

Abstract: An expendable launch vehicle is provided using pressure-fed liquid propellant fixed steering ablatively-cooled rocket engines. The vehicle is manufactured minimizing toxic or exotic metals and maximizing the use of conventional, inexpensive composites and 3D printed parts. Fuselage, fairing, stage shells, adapters, propellant tanks, and even engine combustion chambers are unified for all stages, are ablatively cooled, and, like the fairing, integral propellant tanks and adapters, are made of composites or 3D printed parts. Using non-toxic materials with non-toxic by-products, and non-toxic fabrication methods, using mostly non-metallic components allows for an environmentally neutral design.

A downstream end portion of the rotational flow amplification section is engaged with an upstream end portion of a flow outlet section. The rotational assembly housing has an interior space extending along a centerline axis of the rotational assembly housing. The rotational assembly is disposed within the interior space of the rotational assembly housing. Abstract: Systems and methods of the inventive subject matter are directed to control systems that create virtual mass in a haptic feedback system. Embodiments include a jog knob coupled with a PCB stator motor such that the PCB stator motor can be controlled to give the jog knob a feeling of mass that is different from its actual mass. Thus, a system of the inventive subject matter can be configured to continue a rotation as if it has a higher mass than it actually has, resulting in smoother rotations that last longer. This functionality can be useful to, for example, remotely control a camera's movements while still giving a user the feel of a comparable mechanical system.

Abstract: An electronic access control system and method that enables conditional access to electronic locking systems according to user-based and situation-based safety parameters. Aspects of the present disclosure provide for a mobile access interface whereby the network operations center can assess a safety risk for a service site based on a combination of user-generated inputs, sensor inputs and/or external data inputs. The system may comprise a dynamic rules engine configured to dynamically determine safety and compliance associated with an access-restricted area. If the access-restricted area is safe, the system may enable access according to one or more access protocols. If the access-restricted area is unsafe, or the user requesting access is not in compliance with one or more static or dynamic safety parameters, the system may disable standard access protocols and deny access to the requesting party.

Abstract: Provided are electrodes that include an electrode dry mixture and a dry electrolyte material intermixed with the electrode dry mixture; and a binder intermixed with the electrode dry mixture and the dry electrolyte material, said binder comprising fibrils; the electrode dry mixture, dry electrolyte material, and said binder in the form of a dry electrode film. The electrolyte material may include a glass ceramic and, optionally, an air-stabilizing dopant. The glass ceramic may include Li3PS4. The electrodes may include a composite cathode of the dry electrode film and optionally further include a solid-state electrolyte layer. Also provided are methods for forming the electrodes, optionally where the methods may be applicable for a solvent-free process to form electrodes and electrochemical cells and batteries including the electrodes.

Abstract: This disclosure provides for improvements in managing multi-drive, multi-die or multi-plane NAND flash memory. In one embodiment, the host directly assigns physical addresses and performs logical-to-physical address translation in a manner that reduces or eliminates the need for a memory controller to handle these functions, and initiates functions such as wear leveling in a manner that avoids competition with host data accesses. A memory controller optionally educates the host on array composition, capabilities and addressing restrictions. Host software can therefore interleave write and read requests across dies in a manner unencumbered by memory controller address translation. For multi-plane designs, the host writes related data in a manner consistent with multi-plane device addressing limitations. The host is therefore able to “plan ahead” in a manner supporting host issuance of true multi-plane read commands.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for predicting the impact of various weather conditions on signal quality in a satellite communication system. A first model is generated for predicting RF signal degradation, and trained with link quality metrics from selected terminals over a first time interval. A second model is generated for predicting RF signal degradation resulting from weather conditions, and trained with both the link quality metrics from the selected terminals and weather conditions over a second predetermined time interval. Real time link quality metrics are analyzed using the trained first model and the trained second model in order to identify changes in current RF signal quality. At least one recommendation is subsequently generated to indicate a cause for changes in the current RF signal quality.

Abstract: Described herein is a beverage system that is configured to produce beverages having different characteristics, such as different levels of carbonation including producing substantially non-carbonated beverages and carbonated beverages with a single machine. The beverage system includes a beverage appliance and a beverage container. The beverage container includes a beverage material, which can include a flavoring ingredient for a target beverage. The beverage appliance is used to access the beverage material from the beverage container and produce the target beverage. The beverage appliance and beverage container are adaptable to produce the target beverage having any of a range of carbonation levels or other characteristics.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example avoiding data copy and task switching by processing protocol headers of network PDUs as a serial tape to be processed in order such as by a single method. Other processing includes reducing stages and simplifying protocol processing and multiplexing during network communications. Address changing in an active network can be implemented by assigning multiple addresses to an entity so that a new address can replace the old address. Peer-to-peer application searching can be performed among networks that can be accessible or non-accessible networks. Utilizing anycast sets that include selected and alternative addresses to enable immediate or near immediate alternative route selection on failure or congestion. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a unit cell of a focal plane array includes providing an integrated circuit substrate, depositing a proximal portion of a dielectric layer on the substrate, and etching a plurality of recess structures into the dielectric layer. Each of the plurality of recess structures defines a partial via and includes sidewalls that extend from the first surface to a bottom portion of the respective recess structure. The method also includes forming a capacitor structure, depositing a distal portion of the dielectric layer on the capacitor structure and a region of the proximal portion of the dielectric layer, forming a plurality of vias passing to the capacitor structure, forming a metal layer, and forming a detector overlying the metal layer. The plurality of vias are positioned between the capacitor structure and the metal layer and electrically connect the capacitor structure to the metal layer.

Abstract: Some vehicles can be equipped with a safety system that provides audible and/or visual alerts in response to excessive speed or other safety violations. The system can also generate a report of a safety violation. In some situations, the alerts and/or reports that are generated are false alarms. In other situations, the condition that triggered a true alarm can be prevented if advance warning is given to the driver. In the embodiments herein, a system and method for geolocated in-vehicle false alarm filtering and proactive true alarm early warning are provided that can address these issues.
