Abstract: Systems and methods are described for performing Layered Belief LDPC decoding on received Standard Belief LDPC encoded data bursts. In on implementation, a receiver: demodulates a signal, the demodulated signal including a noise corrupted signal derived from a codeword encoded using standard belief LDPC encoding; converts the noise corrupted signal derived from the standard belief LDPC encoded codeword to a noise corrupted signal derived from a layered belief LDPC encoded codeword; and decodes the noise corrupted signal derived from the layered belief LDPC encoded codeword using a layered belief LDPC decoder. In further implementations, systems are described for reducing collisions in Layered Belief LDPC decoders that occur when multiple parity checks need the same soft decision at the same time. In these implementations, elements in an original LBD decoder table are rearranged to increase the distance between elements specifying the same location in a RAM where soft decisions are stored.

  • Patent number: 9889363
Abstract: An exercise method and an exercise device providing rebounding for the lower body, punching bag training for the upper body, and a combination of the two, with additional optional devices. The exercise device includes a rebounding device having a rebounding surface and a housing, a frame about the rebounding device having a support member extending horizontally above the rebounding device, and at least three double-ended punching bags. The punching bags can be positioned in a triangular configuration, as viewed from above. The exercise method includes positioning oneself between the three punching bags, bouncing on the rebounding device while punching the punching bags, and shuffling on the rebounding device to avoid being hit by one or more of the punching bags rebounding from being punched. While shuffling on the rebounding device to avoid being hit by a rebounding punching bag, a user continues to punch the punching bags.

  • Patent number: 9894687
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided. Devices asynchronously transmit, without diversity, bursts including information encoded using a low rate FEC code having a code rate no higher than ½. A terminal receives transmitted multiple overlapping bursts. The terminal detects and decodes bursts in a window of burst times, performs an iteration of an iterative interference cancellation process, and when at least one burst of at least a portion of the window remains incorrectly decoded, another iteration of the iterative cancellation process is performed as long as a maximum number of repeated iterations has not yet been performed. When all of the bursts in at least the portion of the window are correctly decoded, the window is advanced by an amount of burst time, at least the portion of the window is updated, and the iterations may be repeated. Correctly decoded bursts may be passed to a next process or device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose systems and methods for providing an ATC Overlay data link. Through embodiments of the present invention, existing ATC (or other) modulated signals using existing standard frequencies may be utilized to transmit (e.g., from an aircraft transponder) additional information in a manner that does not render the transmitted signal unrecognizable by legacy ATC equipment. Legacy equipment will be able to demodulate and decode information that was encoded in the transmitted signal in accordance with preexisting standard modulation formats, and updated equipment can also extract the additional information that was overlaid on transmitted signals.

  • Patent number: 9888106
Abstract: A satellite communication system, a method and a system are provided. In one aspect of the invention, an outdoor unit power source is connected to a switch of a satellite modem of an indoor unit. When the satellite modem receives a first signal from a wireless device, a first switch control signal is sent to the switch to open a connection between the outdoor unit power source and an inter-facility link connected to an antenna of an outdoor unit, thereby preventing power from flowing through the inter-facility link. When the satellite modem receives a second signal from the wireless device, a second switch control signal is sent to the switch to close a connection between the outdoor unit power source and the inter-facility link, thereby causing the power to flow through the inter-facility link. Other wirelessly received signals may cause various control signals to be sent via the inter-facility link.

  • Patent number: 9887957
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing sourcing Internet access requests from ISP subscribers serviced by a gateway not physically located near the subscribers. As the localization needs of all subscribers are not necessarily the same, the gateway determines an appropriate source IP address to use to ensure that the IP protocol localization features work efficiently. In addition, the gateway can help enforce rules related to the governing law of the geographic area of the subscriber and/or rules based on the content providers licensing. Through determination of the context of a request, the gateway may also determine whether localized sourcing of a request is necessary based on the type of content being requested.
