Abstract: Systems and methods for stabilizing an aircraft in response to a yaw movement are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes detecting a yaw movement of the aircraft. The yaw movement can cause a front portion of the aircraft to move towards a first side of the aircraft. The method can further include, in response to the yaw movement, initiating a trim process resulting in a thrust differential. The trim process can include increasing thrust in one or more engines on the first side of the aircraft and decreasing thrust in one or more engines on a second side of the aircraft. The method can include controlling the trim process based at least in part on a detected yaw movement of the aircraft.

Abstract: Methods and systems for recording streaming audio and video by directing an incoming audio visual stream to a discrete memory region serving as a virtual display. The virtual display is configured with a section visible to the viewer and a section invisible to the viewer, wherein a streaming video is hidden from the user's display under all conditions. The user's browser is pre-loaded with hooks to redirect the video portion of the stream to the invisible section of the virtual memory wherein a video capture tool specifically designed to interact with the hooks can now recognize each function call, and intercept each frame as it is rendered in the GPU. Concurrently, the audio portion of the stream is remapped using an audio indexing application. The GPU framebuffers and audio sinks are multiplexed together and saved to disk. The file is immediately accessible for playback or copying.
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving color accuracy and uniformity in LED illumination systems are disclosed including light engines, switching circuits and methods of adding phosphors or lumiphoric materials for controlling the addition or subtraction of light from one or more color light sources of the light engines to produce light of a uniform and consistent color. Systems and methods of providing LED light engines and associated illumination spectrums that are both visually appealing, rich in melanopic flux and that reduce blue light hazard exposure are also disclosed.
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a switch which comprises one or more ports adapted to receive packets. The switch is a member of a network of interconnected switches, and also comprises a path monitoring apparatus adapted to: in response to a control packet associated with a session within a predetermined time interval, set a receive indicator for the switch to an active state; and in response to absence of the control packet associated with the session within the predetermined time interval, set the receive indicator for the switch to an inactive state. The path monitoring apparatus is also adapted to set a path state associated with the session based on the receive indicators for the switch and other member switches. The switch also comprises a broadcast apparatus adapted to broadcast at least the receive indicator for the switch to the other member switches.

Abstract: A method for converting a facsimile includes receiving the facsimile via the public-switched telephone network, generating an enhanced portable document format (EPDF) file that includes information in addition to image information and communicating the EPDF file to an e-mail server. The EPDF file can then be communicated as an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to the intended recipient of the facsimile. A facsimile processing system includes a public-switched telephone network interface, a packet-switched network interface, a mail transfer protocol server, an input agent, a job processor and a translator. The input agent identifies and forwards the incoming facsimile to the job processor. The job processor determines when an EPDF file is desired and communicates appropriate instructions to the translator. The translator generates the EPDF file in response to the instructions and the image information from the facsimile.
Abstract: An underwater vehicle may include a buoyancy control system configured to use a dual-internal-reservoir configuration to enhance efficiency of changing buoyancy of the underwater vehicle. The buoyancy control system may utilize an incompressible fluid (e.g., oil or water) that is transferred between a first internal reservoir and an external chamber to affect buoyancy of the underwater vehicle. In exemplary implementations, a compressible fluid (e.g., air) may be used to inflate or deflate a second internal reservoir. The second internal reservoir may be disposed within the buoyancy control system so that it can act on the first internal reservoir by applying a compressive force or a tensive force on the first internal reservoir, depending on the pressure differences between the two reservoirs.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a mix monitor system is provided in which a stage plot of the positions of the musicians and their instructions may be supplied. Based on the relative locations of a given musician who is monitoring the mix and the other musicians/instruments, the mix monitor system may generate a mix that incorporates modifications to make the sound appear to be three dimensional. That is, the source of the sound may be experienced by the musician as if the sound is being heard from the location of the musician/instrument.
Abstract: In an embodiment, a monitor mixing system is provided in which each musician has one or more portable electronic devices (e.g. smart phones, tablets, etc.) that are programmable to select the owner of a plurality of channels of digital audio as either the musician or the band (e.g. one of the other musicians). The device may also be programmable to control the volume of the musicians own channel independently from the volume of the remaining channels, in an embodiment, and may be programmable with a master volume control as well. The plurality of channels of digital audio may be mixed according to the controls and played back for the musician over the device's audio output. In an embodiment, a simple and efficient interface may give the musician considerable control over his/her monitor mix and may free the musician to move about the stage as desired.
Abstract: A bone plate system is provided that permits rapid, secure stabilization of a plurality of bones, such as portions of a cut rib. The bone plate system includes a bone plate having anchor devices for securing the bone plate to, for example, cortical bone of the cut rib portions. The anchor devices have an open configuration that permits the anchor devices to be connected to the cortical bone of the cut rib portions and a clamping configuration that fixes the bone plate to the cortical bone of the cut portions. The bone plate connects the cut rib portions and stabilizes the cut rib portions against relative movement therebetween.
Abstract: An operator for moving a barrier between closed and open positions mounted on, or close to, the counterbalance for said barrier. The operator is connected to the counterbalance shaft and lifts the barrier by rotating the counterbalance shaft with attached cable drums and thereby takes up cable connected to the bottom of the door. There is an upper cable connected to the top of the door through a cable drum in the operator. A power spring biases the operator cable drum to always take up the upper cable, keeping it wound. The operator cable drum is connected to the motor through a clutch which when engaged allows the operator to pull the door closed. While the door is closing the clutch can be disengaged to allow the operator cable drum to take up and then pay out the upper cable connected to the top of the door as needed.

Abstract: A dongle module to be installed in a vehicle is discussed. The dongle module has memory buffers and processors. The dongle module also has a first transceiver that couples the on-board diagnostic (OBD) port of the vehicle to communicate with a fault and diagnostic module of the vehicle. A second transceiver uses wireless communications to communicate with one or more client devices. An RF transmitter transmits RF signals to Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module of the vehicle. A mapping module either include a first map calculating chip to calculate map coordinates of the vehicle, or periodically receive map coordinates from a client device. A security module is configured either to receive, or to implement an algorithm to determine, a rolling security key of the RKE module of the vehicle. The security module also receives commands to be transmitted by the RF transmitter to the RKE module to be executed.
