  • Patent number: 9771844
Abstract: A low emissions 2-stroke natural gas fueled engine includes at least one cylinder with an exhaust port in communication with a silencer-catalytic converter unit. The unit has first and second volumes in communication with each other. The first volume damps spurious exhaust pressure excursions and removes particulates in the exhaust. The second volume houses an oxidation catalyst for treating exhaust to reduce exhaust emissions. The engine oil has at most 10 ppm zinc content to reduce metal poisons contained in the exhaust prior to contact with the oxidation catalyst. The engine oil preferably has a very low ash content to minimize sulfur combustion components in the exhaust to reduce masking of the oxidation catalyst. The first volume preferably has a pressure relief valve set to relieve at a pressure greater than the maximum normal operating pressure of the engine to avoid excessive pressure excursions of the engine exhaust from damaging the oxidation catalyst.

  • Patent number: 9771742
Abstract: A remote controlled retractable leg iron device provides a restraint device which can be used by police or any other authority to maintain control of persons while in transport. The device is remote controlled so an operator can control the wearer from a distance. The cuffs are secured to the legs of the wearer and are attached to the housing unit by cables which coil around winch drums within the housing unit. The winch drums rotate freely in a normal operation mode so that the wearer can walk or move with little resistance. In an emergency mode, the device retracts the wire cables into the housing unit so that the wearer's legs are restrained tightly together—removing the lack of resistance and thus stopping the wearer's motion. The emergency mode is activated using the remote control.

  • Publication number: 20170270649
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to systems and methods to intelligently reduce the dynamic range of a signal. Using a histogram analysis of the signal, significant and insignificant portions of the original dynamic range can be identified. Compaction can then be focused on the insignificant portions of the dynamic range, resulting in significant dynamic range reduction with less signal loss. By compacting the little used portions of the original signal, the dynamic range of the rest of the signal can be largely maintained which results in little loss to signal fidelity, and thus mitigates saturation, quantization, signal mutual suppression, and other issues observed in prior art methods.
