Patent number: 11284887Abstract: An assembly used in osteosynthesis comprising a delivery instrument in combination with an implant wherein the delivery instrument releasably holds the implant in a first configuration prior to attachment of the implant to bone. The delivery instrument allows the implant to be affixed to bone before the implant is released from the instrument. And the instrument may comprise guide means for drills, depth gauges, screws, pins, pegs, blades and or drivers which are used or implanted when the implant is releasably attached to the instrument. After the implant is affixed to bone and released from the delivery instrument, the implant assumes at least a second configuration which provides compression and or distraction and or control of spatial orientation.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2021Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Assignee: Crossroads Extremity Systems, LLCInventors: Vernon R. Publication number: 20220090613Abstract: Disclosed cyclonic flow-inducing pumps overcome drawbacks associated with known adverse flow conditions that arise from flow of certain types of materials through a material flow conduit. Such cyclonic flow-inducing pumps provide for flow of flowable material within a flow passage of a material flow conduit (e.g., a portion of a pipeline, tubing or the like) to have a cyclonic flow (i.e., vortex or swirling) profile. Advantageously, the cyclonic flow profile centralizes flow toward the central portion of the flow passage, thereby reducing magnitude of laminar flow. Such cyclonic flow profile provides a variety of other advantages as compared to a parabolic flow profile such as, for example, increased flow rate, reduce inner pipeline wear, more uniform inner pipe wear, reduction in energy consumption, reduced or eliminated adverse considerations such as slugging.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2021Publication date: March 24, 2022Applicant: Vortex Pipe Systems LLCInventors: Paul Wayne Schmidt, Avijit Ghosh

Patent number: 11282353Abstract: Gunshot detection within an indoor environment is performed with video analytics. One or more position-independent gunshot sensors are deployed. Infrared and acoustic information is collected within an indoor environment for indoor gunshot detection with video analytics. The infrared information and the acoustic information are analyzed to determine a gunshot occurrence. Video analytics for tracking a suspected shooter of the gunshot is performed, based on the gunshot occurrence, using video that is collected. A person of interest is tagged, as a portion of the video analytics, for the purpose of tracking the person of interest. Video collection from one or more video streams is engaged, based on the detection of the gunshot. The video analytics uses image classifiers. The image classifiers are used to identify a gun type. The suspected shooter is identified based on the video analytics. An audio microphone is activated based on the detecting of the gunshot.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2020Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Assignee: Shooter Detection Systems, LLCInventors: Ronald A Fowler, Richard Thomas Onofrio

Patent number: 11282358Abstract: Techniques for gunshot analysis in an indoor environment are disclosed. A gunshot sensor is placed in the indoor environment. The gunshot sensor includes multiple individual sensors, including, but not limited to, an infrared sensor and an acoustic sensor. A firearm typically emits energy within the infrared spectrum, which is detected by the infrared sensor. A firearm typically further emits an acoustic pressure wave, which is detected by acoustic sensor. The gunshot detector can differentiate between a gunshot and a strobe from a fire alarm, based on information from the infrared sensor and acoustic sensors. The infrared sensor information and the acoustic sensor information are analyzed to determine that a gunshot has occurred in a timeframe between strobe events. The gunshot determination takes place independently of the location of the gunshot sensor. Reverberations and reflections add cumulatively to the collected acoustic and infrared information.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2020Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Assignee: Shooter Detection Systems, LLCInventors: Ronald A Fowler, Richard Thomas Onofrio

Publication number: 20220082116Abstract: Material flow modifiers as disclosed herein overcome drawbacks associated with known adverse flow conditions (e.g., surface erosion, head losses, particulate drop-out, and the like) that arise from flow of certain types of materials (e.g., fluids, slurries, particulates, flowable aggregate, and the like) through a material flow conduit. Such material flow modifiers provide for flow of flowable material within a flow passage of a material flow conduit (e.g., a portion of a pipeline, tubing or the like) to have a rotational flow profile.
