Patents Assigned to T. J. Gundlach Machine Company
  • Patent number: 5249750
Abstract: This apparatus (10) for reducing lumps of coal, and the like, on a grid (14) disposed over a material-receiving area (16) includes a carriage (12) guided across the grid (14) on a track (44) by a drive system (50) and having roll assemblies (60) mounted thereto. Each roll assembly (60) includes a drive roll (62) having stationary shaft assemblies (66,68) mounted to the carriage (12) and driven by an internally mounted motor (78), and a set of pick rings (64) mounted to the drive roll (62) at longitudinally spaced intervals and having pick circles with picks (90) pointing in both directions. The material-receiving area includes a conveyor system which, when the area is wide, includes a longitudinal conveyor (100) flanked by a plurality of lateral feeder conveyors (102).

  • Patent number: 5090574
Abstract: Apparatus (1) for removing detected tramp material (TM) in a flow of material (M) moving along a primary flow path (P). The tramp material is deflected into one of two deflection paths (P1, P2) which are located of opposite sides of the material flow path. A scoop (29) is responsive to the detection of tramp material to deflect it into one of the deflection paths. The scoop is transported over rails (45, 47) between the deflection paths and across the primary flow path by a carriage (43) driven by a penumatic cylinder and rope and pulley unit (65). An actuator unit (91) repositions the scoop after each traversal of the flow path so it can deflect tramp material on its next traverse of the primary flow path.

  • Patent number: 4807820
Abstract: A coal crusher roll includes a smooth tubular cylindrical back-up roll having a series of regularly spaced tapped radial holes to receive bolts by which eight identical shell segments may be fastened on the back-up roll. The holes at the axial ends of the segments are undercut to provide a rabbet into which fits the tang of a special lifting hook by which the segment can be easily handled by a lightweight crane. A recess in the central part of the segment defined by a peripheral berm around the backside of the segment reduces the weight of the segment, provides a place for receiving balancing weights, and simplifies the face fit machining for the segment with the back-up roll.

  • Patent number: 4630781
Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing crushing rolls from a crushing apparatus is disclosed in which arms means mounted on a movable frame supporting movable crushing rolls which move with the movable frame are utilized to remove stationary crushing rolls mounted on a stationary supporting frame to a position at which the stationary rolls may be lifted from the crushing apparatus. With the stationary and movable frames adjacent to each other, the arm means are placed in supporting engagement with the stationary crushing rolls mounted on the stationary frame. The crushing rolls mounted on the stationary frame are then released from its support so that the stationary crushing rolls are supported by the arm means. The movable frame is then moved away from the stationary frame to move the stationary crushing rolls supported by the arm means to a position at which the stationary crushing rolls may be lifted from the arm means.
