  • Patent number: 11589213
Abstract: A presence server in a network can receive capability information about a UE in a publish message, and make that capability information available to other UEs on the network. When the UE later deregisters from the network, the UE can send an unpublish message. However, the presence server can at least partially disregard the unpublish message and continue to make the capability information about the UE available to other UEs. The presence server can also filter capability information of one or more target UEs provided to a watcher UE based on a registration status of a target UE, capabilities of the watcher UE, and/or whether a set of target UEs associated with a single user share certain capabilities.

  • Patent number: 11582231
Abstract: A telecommunications network includes a serving network and a home network. In some examples the serving network receives, from the home network, identity data associated with a network terminal. The serving network determines a tied key using a tying key derivation function (TKDF) based on the identity data, then prepares an authentication request based on the tied key and sends the request to the terminal. In some examples, the home network receives the identity data from the access network and determines a tied key using a TKDF. The home network then determines a confirmation message based on the first tied key. In some examples, the serving network receives the identity data from the home network, and receives a network-slice selector associated with the network terminal. The serving network determines a tied key using a TKDF based on the identity data and the network-slice selector.

  • Patent number: 11582668
Abstract: A base station of a radio access network (RAN) can be configured to prioritize standalone (SA) 5G traffic over non-standalone (NSA) 5G traffic in certain situations, to improve user experiences associated with 5G-specific services implemented via SA 5G networks. The base station can generally instruct 5G user equipment (UE), such SA UEs and NSA UEs, to prioritize camping on an SA priority band. However, if a RAN load level is at or above a threshold, the base station can instruct NSA UEs to prioritize camping on a different priority band in order to relieve congestion on the SA priority band and/or preserve remaining capacity on the SA priority band for SA UEs. When the RAN load level is above a threshold, the base station can also, or alternately, at least briefly delay traffic associated with NSA UEs to prioritize transmission of traffic associated with SA UEs.

  • Patent number: 11570674
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically managing the states (e.g., enabling/disabling) of telecommunication services/features are disclosed. To do so, the system associates parameters (e.g., timers) with the impacted services/features. For example, when a user experiences issues with voice calls, he/she calls the telecommunications service provider (carrier) to help resolve the issue. A customer care representative may ask the user to temporality turn off the VoNR service to help alleviate the issue. When the user turns off (or toggles off) the VoNR service on his/her mobile device, the system can start a configurable timer (parameter) for the VoNR service. In this manner, the system can replace the conventional toggle on/off feature with a time-based feature. The system monitors the timer's value and when the timers value reaches a target value (e.g., 24 hours, 1 week, etc.), the system alerts the user that the VoNR service will be turned on (or toggled on).
