  • Patent number: 8991927
Abstract: A headrest holder includes two tension pieces defined in the body portion thereof and a head portion. The two tension pieces, each including a protrudent portion, are spaced apart from each other along the longitudinal direction of that body portion, while being in a mutually facing relation, so that a headrest stay inserted in the headrest holder is retained between the two protrudent portions against wobbling. Further, those two tension pieces and either the head portion or a support bracket of seat frame establish three supportive points. Namely, the headrest holder inserted in the support bracket is retained against wobbling because the two protrudent portions and the headrest holder's neck portion closely contact the support bracket. Also, a headrest stay inserted in the headrest holder is retained against wobbling because the two protrudent portions and headrest holder's head portion closely contact the headrest stay.

  • Patent number: 6209960
Abstract: A clutching mechanism for pivotably mounting a first member relative to a second member includes an axis of rotation, a first member, a second member, a shaft, a coil spring clutching member, a cam plate, and a clutch engagement member. The axis of rotation passes through the first member. The second member is pivotably mounted relative to the first member for relative rotation therebetween about the axis of rotation. The shaft is fixed to the first member and is centered on the axis of rotation. The coil spring clutching member has a helically wound body wrapped around the shaft. A first end of the spring clutching member extends radially outwardly from the body to engage the second member. A second end of the spring clutching member extends radially outwardly from the body as well. The cam plate is fixed relative to the shaft and is disposed adjacent the second member. The clutch engagement member is slideably disposed relative to the second member and receives the second end of the spring clutching member.

  • Patent number: 6093910
Abstract: A heated vehicle seat is brought forth which includes a first bus bar of conductive ink applied to either the vehicle seat cushion or to its cover. The conductive ink can be applied directly to the seat cushion or cover, or the conductive ink can be applied to a noncellulosic fabric substrate which is then connected with the seat cushion or cover. A second bus bar of conductive ink is also applied. Between and connecting the two bus bars is a resistive pattern of a conductive ink. The heated vehicle seat has a high thermal reaction time and generates heat at a position closer to the vehicle seat occupant.
