    Abstract: A cushion body of a seat for vehicles is disclosed which comprises a main pad portion, front and back portions foldably, integrally connected with the corresponding forward and back edges of the main pad portion, and left and right side portions foldably, integrally connected with the corresponding left and right side edges of the main pad portion. All the pad portions are made of a foam material, and the front and back portions as well as the right and left side portions have superimposing surfaces for being superimposed on the upper surface of the main pad portion when each of those portions are folded over on to the main pad. A recessed portion is formed in one of the upper surface of the main pad portion and the superimposing surfaces of those front and back portions as well as left and right side portions, or both of all the upper surface and superimposing surfaces thereof, whereby an air bag is stored in the cavity formed by the recessed portion(s).

    Abstract: A tandem seat for a two-wheeled vehicle comprises a bottom of hard synthetic resin to be fixed to a vehicle body, a pad of foam material to be placed onto the bottom and a trim cover assembly for covering the pad. In this tandem seat, recessed grooves are formed in the respective sides of the above-mentioned bottom and pad. These recessed grooves extend along the interfaces between the front and rear seat sections of the tandem seat. The trim cover assembly is thrust into the recessed grooves to separate the front and rear seat sections from each other, so that such an appearance like a split seat is obtained.

    Abstract: A construction of the interior of an arm rest housing is provided. The cloth which forms the upper wall of a recessed arm rest housing is stitched to cloths forming a left and right side walls thereof keeping the seams outside. The extension of the cloth is extended around the frame located inside the seat and terminates in one end. This end is fixed to a fixing wire and a panel is affixed on the fixing wire. In this construction an improved interior construction of the arm rest housing in a seat for vehicles is disclosed wherein there is defined spaced in a portion of frame corresponding to the seams of the cloths, whereby the seams extend through such space into the inside of the seat. In this manner, bulging at the corners of the interior of the housing is avoided and the exterior appearance is enhanced.

In the trim cover assembly, the three-layer lamination is pressurized and heated by a high frequency welding machine to form a plurality of recessed grooves in one or more main bodies of the trim cover assembly and at the same time to provide a plurality of joint portions, which are formed by collapsing the above-mentioned three elements of the trim cover assembly, along the ends of the trim cover assembly lying in the extensions of the recessed grooves, so that the intersections of the recessed grooves and joint portions are regularly folded to facilitate the positive and fine welding of other components of the trim cover assembly to the joint portions.
