  • Patent number: 9362979
Abstract: The present invention is for a method and apparatus to improve an ultra wideband (UWB) digital receiver's performance sensitivity. A transmitted signal stream has each data bit having multiple identical modulated pulses separated by a constant time interval. The received signal stream is applied to a plurality of signal processing groups where the original signal is duplicated in each processing group. The duplicated signal stream in each signal processing group is delayed by a different constant time interval between modulated pulses in the original signal stream and the two signal streams in each signal processing group is correlated and magnitude summed and combined to form a final signal stream which is detected to improve the sensitivity of the receiver.

  • Patent number: 9195781
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing golf clubs and for collecting golf data, such as golf strokes, are described. In one embodiment, a golf data collection system includes a golf accessory worn on the golfer's wrist, such as a watch, equipped with a GPS receiver, impact sensing and motion sensing means, and a transceiver to communicate with golf club tags (e.g. at 2.4 GHz such as Bluetooth). The golf accessory senses the motion of the golf club being swung by the golf and/or senses the impact of the golf club striking the golf ball. When swinging motion or impact is sensed the device uses the transceiver to communicate with golf club tags. The closest golf club (i.e. the club in the golfer's hand during the swing) is captured as the club used by the swing based on RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). Other embodiments are also described.

  • Patent number: 9132691
Abstract: Mass customization of articles with a customized composite or dimensional image created from one or more custom images, such as photographs, text, and the like. The customized composite image is automatically generated by interlacing, or otherwise combining, the one or more custom or personalized images, and is automatically placed or imposed in a digital template to form a print ready file. The print file is then digitally printed on a substrate and a lens is married thereto such that the composite image is viewable through the lens. Alternatively, the print ready file, or at least the customized composite image, is printed directly on the back of a lens such that the composite image is viewable through the lens.
