Abstract: A method according to a set of instructions stored on the memory of a computing device can include receiving first motion sensor data of a motion sensor associated with a sporting good. The method may further include activating an activity monitoring application logic. The activity monitoring application logic may include receiving a second motion sensor data of the motion sensor after the activity monitoring application logic is activated. The activity monitoring application logic may further include processing the second motion sensor data to identify a pattern of motion indicative of active usage of the sporting good. The activity monitoring application logic may further include activating adverse event detection logic. The adverse event detection logic may include receiving third motion sensor data of the motion sensor. The adverse event detection logic may further include monitoring the third motion sensor data to detect a potential adverse event experienced by the sporting good.
