  • Patent number: 7237693
Abstract: A dual fluid cartridge for storing and dispensing fluids in unequal ratios is disclosed. The dual fluid cartridge disclosed defines two fluid chambers for a fluid to be held in greater amount and defines another fluid chamber for a fluid to be held in lesser amount. The two fluid chambers holding the fluid of greater amount are in fluid communication with one another through a delivery channel. Because of this arrangement, the dual fluid cartridge is very suitable and highly effective in situations where a dual fluid cartridge is needed to store and dispense fluids of unequal ratios (e.g. a 10:1 ratio, a 9:1 ratio, an 8:1 ratio, a 7:1 ratio etc.). With such an arrangement, the amount of space wasted in the cartridge is minimized, which maximizes the amount of fluids that can be stored in the cartridge. As a result, the total final product that can be dispensed from the dual fluid cartridge is also maximized.

  • Patent number: 6848480
Abstract: A method for filling a dual fluid cartridge assembly which automatically bleeds air from the cartridge to filling and without extra steps or a vacuum as in known filling methods. In particular, the process relates to providing a dual fluid cartridge assembly which includes vents that bleed air from the cartridges initially and automatically closes the vents as the piston seal moves away from the vent. By utilizing such a self-bleeding cartridge assembly, the cartridge can be filled by a fluid dispenser without the need for shims, a vacuum or bleed plugs.

  • Patent number: 6773156
Abstract: An apparatus and method that more effectively reduces fluid streaking in a motionless mixer includes a series of baffles, including a flow inversion baffle. The flow inversion baffle acts to redirect fluid from the center of the fluid flow stream to the periphery of the fluid flow stream while at the same time redirecting fluid flow from the periphery of the fluid flow stream to the center. The transposition of fluid flows eliminates the “channeling” effect and reduces streaking in the extruded mixture.

  • Patent number: 6629774
Abstract: A static mixer apparatus providing a mixer and releasably affixed dispensing accessory in which the static mixer outlet tip has a dispensing accessory mounting structure to maintain orientation of the accessory about an axis defined by the structure, the structure having a generally cylindrical accessory mounting boss coaxial with the axis and defining a dispensing outlet for mixed material from the mixer and a projection extends radially from said boss for engagement with a cooperating feature of the dispensing accessory to determine and maintain at least one desired orientation of that dispensing accessory relative to the structure about the axis. The dispensing accessory is preferably asymmetric.

  • Publication number: 20030048694
Abstract: A static mixer for mixing at least two materials wherein the mixer includes a conduit having interior walls and a central, longitudinal axis along which materials flow. The mixer has a number of baffles arranged inside the conduit and each baffle has at least two, planar webs that intersect one another and extend parallel to the flow direction wherein one web forms a rear fin extending in the material flow direction. In addition, the mixer has at least two, forward angled surfaces and at least two, rear angled surfaces that are connected by the two planar webs.

  • Patent number: 6484904
Abstract: A cartridge system for multi-component reactive viscous fluids which includes a plurality of syringe elements conjoined and discharging into an outlet having a matching plurality of outlet passageways therein. The cartridge has a frangible cap that seals the outlet passageways prior to use, is broken away from the outlet for dispensing and has plugs insertable into the passageways to reseal the cartridge after use. The plugs preferably have lead-in chamfers and a sealing ledge. Orientation device is provided to prevent cross-contamination upon resealing. A cooperating dispenser gun incorporates registration and a retention device to secure the cartridge in position and has an integral cap removal and retention tool.

  • Patent number: 6260737
Abstract: A dispenser for manually dispensing pasty, semi-fluid products, from a cartridge, that must be applied with control and accuracy, incorporates an integral trigger and pawl plunger drive mechanism, in which the drive is activated by a trigger or actuator. A floating gripper is disposed on the plunger to release dispensing pressure in the cartridge to prevent drooling after the completion of dispensation.
