  • Patent number: 8636415
Abstract: A sliding bearing structure for a shaft member includes: a shaft member; a bearing member rotates relative to the shaft member; an oil supply space to which lubrication is supplied between sliding surfaces of the shaft member and the bearing member; two annular grooves formed in a circumferential direction in an inner peripheral surface of the bearing member; and two annular seal members formed as separate pieces from the shaft member and the bearing member, and arranged in the annular grooves between the shaft member and the bearing member. Each annular seal member is formed in plural, and is made of material having a thermal expansion coefficient such that an inside diameter of the annular seal member is smaller than an inside diameter of the bearing member at a low temperature, and is the same as or larger than the inside diameter of the bearing member at a high temperature.

  • Patent number: 4878768
Abstract: Disclosed is a bearing having an improved corrosion resistance, which comprises: a base metal; and, a bearing layer of Cu-series alloy having a skeleton structure of Cu alloy. The clearance of the skeleton structure are filled essentially with Pb-containing phase. The deterioration of corrosion resistance due to dissolution of Pb in the clearances into degraded engine oil is prevented by including into the Pb-containing phase In at a depth exceeding approximately 20 .mu.m mearued from the surface of the bearing layer.

  • Patent number: 4470184
Abstract: A bearing to be used in an internal combustion engine, comprises a base and an overlay layer formed on said base. The overlay layer comprises an alloy layer consisting of from 5 to 20%, preferably from 10 to 14%, of Sn, from 0.05 to 10%, preferably from 0.5 to 5%, of at least one element selected from the group consisting of In and Tl, from 0.05 to 5%, preferably from 0.2 to 2%, of at least one, wear resistance-enhancing element selected from the group consisting of Sb, Mn, Bi, Ni, Cu, Ca and Ba, and Pb and impurities in balance, all percentages being by weight. The bearing is satisfactorily reliable when used in recent internal combustion engines, wherein the output of the engines tends to be high, and further, the oil drain interval tends to be long. The plating of layers and diffusion between these layers are conducted to produce a bearing which is reliable when used in the recent internal combustion engines.
