Abstract: A method of controlling floating virus infection. The method includes the step of: supplying chlorine dioxide gas into a space where floating virus can be present by a gas concentration which allows the animal to live or stay, but deactivates the virus.
Abstract: An intestinal juice level regulator comprising, as the active ingredient, creosote or phenolic derivatives constituting creosote. As having the activities to promote the absorption of intestinal juices and/or to retard the secretion of intestinal juices, the active ingredient lowers the intestinal juice level in intestines. As the phenolic derivatives, usable are one or more of guaiacol, creosol, phenol, cresol and xylenol. The regulator is especially effective for retarding the hypersecretion of intestinal juices to be caused by heat-labile or heat-stable enterotoxin of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of synthesizing polydeoxyribonucleotides which comprises causing a thermostable deoxyribunucleotide polymerase to act on deoxyribonucleotides without using any template and any primers, to the thus-obtained polydeoxyribonucleotides, to a method of screening cDNA libraries using the same as probes, to a method comprising joining the DNA resulting from the above method of synthesis to the 3'--OH terminus of a double-stranded DNA containing a gene derived from cells of a living organism, followed by transfection of such cells with the product of joining and culture of the cells, to thereby cause insertion of the product into chromosomal DNA and production of the protein encoded by the gene, to a method of synthesizing chromosomal DNA and to a method of synthesizing chromosomes.
Abstract: Disclosed are an antispasmodic agent comprising creosote or its component phenol derivative as an active ingredient, and the use of creosote or its component phenol derivative for treating spasms in a patient.
Abstract: Creosote has a novel pharmaceutical efficacy for treatment of various diseases with diarrhea. The medicament according to the present invention usually contains creosote, coptidis rhizoma, glycyrrhizae radix pulverata, cyperi rhizoma, auranti pericarpium and glycerinum, and it especially consists of 400 mg % of creosote, 200 mg % of coptidis rhizoma, 200 mg % of glycyrrhizae radix pulverata, 150 mg % of cyperi rhizoma, 200 mg % of auranti pericarpium and 100 mg % of glycerinum in each 9 pills.
