    Abstract: Color-coding is used to simplify the prior art floating-element Moiré shear-stress sensor. The use of color-coding allows conversion of the Moiré sensor into a 2-D area array sensor, provides a simplified method that saves costs associated with data acquisition and analysis and permits the use of color in the mapping of shear stress distribution.
