Abstract: A reconfigurable toy assembly having foldable portions to allow the toy assembly to simulate a toy combination vehicle having a tractor unit and a trailer unit separatably connected to each other. The tractor unit when separated from the trailer unit is reversibly reconfigurable into a robotic humanoid form, while the trailer unit is reversibly reconfigurable into a play space for the robotic humanoid.
Abstract: A powered miniature toy vehicle having: an upper body member, a lower frame member of approximately 50 mm in length, a front wheel and axle assembly, a rear wheel and axle assembly, and a spring motor assembly. The ratio of the length of the motor assembly to the length of the lower frame member is approximately 0.5 and is approximately equal to the ratio of the total weight of the front wheel assembly, the rear wheel assembly and the motor assembly to the overall weight of the toy vehicle.
Abstract: A toy vehicle assembly that can be self-propelled by a spring motor and is designed to permit the front wheels to be lifted off of the traveling surface by the addition of a weighted member. The weighted member is positioned on a pivotable bracket which is adjustable relative to the main frame of the vehicle to thereby permit a modification in the mode of travel of the vehicle.
Abstract: The invention relates to a running toy having a self-contained motor assembly. The running toy is provided with a pivoting member and a mechanism by which it is actuated in response to the motion of part of the motor assembly to make the running toy somersault when the running toy is traveling along a support surface. The somersault may be rearward or forward. The pivoting member may be manually locked so that the motor will not actuate it.
Abstract: An improved spring-wound prime mover provides a housing cavity that can automatically fix one end of a spring upon insertion. The gear train includes individual gears that automatically provide a first gear ratio for storing energy and a second gear ratio for releasing energy. The prime mover is assembled with a friction fitting arrangement to simplify manufacturing.
Abstract: The miniature vehicle toy is provided having a wheel assembly, a chassis member, a prime mover assembly and a body member. The wheel assembly can be fastened to the chassis member by the snap-mounting of the prime mover assembly between a keeper member and pawl member that are integrally molded onto the chassis member.
Abstract: A cooking toy having a motor-driven magnet beneath a simulated cooking element is disclosed. Various food preparation devices having magnets therein can be placed on the simulated cooking element that provide motions indicative of food preparation in response to the rotation of the motor-driven magnet. Simulated food members having a magnetic portion is also provided.
Abstract: An improved spring wound prime mover capable of use with toys is provided. A plastic resin housing member comprises a pair of housing shells having complementary locking pawls and keeper members to permit a snap together assembly. The housing member further supports a spring member that can be selectively connected to a gear train assembly having a first and second gear ratio. The first gear ratio includes gears with a higher degree of mechanical strength than those engaged in the second gear ratio whereby a durable gear transmission is provided that can run smooth for driving the vehicle.
Abstract: A toy having two portions mountable to one another in two relative configurations, is disclosed. In a first configuration the toy effectively simulates a person, toy character, figure, animal or the like in a substantially upright standing configuration. The toy has a pair of wheels mounted to a lower portion thereof. In a second configuration which is attained by pivoting the two portions relative to one another about an axis substantially normal to the general longitudinal axis of the toy, an additional wheel is exposed for contact with a support surface, and the toy simulates a toy vehicle capable of locomotion on the support surface. In the second configuration the toy also simulates a person, toy figure, character or the like disposed in a prone configuration on the support surface.
Abstract: A combination storage container and launching apparatus for self-propelled toy miniature vehicles includes a base member capable of supporting a miniature vehicle for storage and wall members that can be pivotally connected to the base member. The wall members further provide structures for restraining a miniature vehicle when positioned in a horizontal operative mode, and pivotal levers for releasing the miniature vehicle to permit self propulsion.
Abstract: Disclosed is a drawing toy which includes a plurality of light transmitting carriers that are manually movable past a writing platen which supports portions of the carrier. Each carrier has on its surface a series of different figure fragments which inhibit light from passing through the carrier where a figure fragment is displayed. Selectively moving the carriers to the platen positions different figure fragments over the platen. There is a light source adjacent to the platen and on the side of the platen opposite the carrier so that light passes through the platen and then through the carrier. Preferably, a transparent protective member overlies the portion of the carriers supported by the platen, with the carriers being sandwiched between this member and the platen. A translucent sheet of paper is placed over the protective member opposite the platen.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a reconfigurable toy which is capable of simulating a locomotive train in one position and through a timed release being reconfigured into a rocket plane configuration in a second position.
